It's not growing due to ticket sales and the ticket sales dropped due to matrix change....so yeah the new matrix isn't working...The chances of winning even your money back are ridiculous...I'd rather play at better odds...even if for substantially lower jackpot, that I might actually have a realistic shot at winning or breaking even....I'll buy cash 5 and lucky for life over PB or MM

300M+. Before the billion dollar prize, MM had the two largest jackpots in history but now you barely see it go above 200M and almost no irregular players even look at it unless Powerball has restarted in the mere double digit millions.

Yes I have heard that year after year that you have the same chances of winning. But my post is talking about places that have large populations, more people more winners.

You have the same odds of winning regardless of where you buy it. If you want to celebrate a home town lottery winner then move to a more populous location.

It's not the amount of balls that's keeping it low, it's the $1 wager instead of $2. No, it should NOT be raised to $2 because if I have a single buck after buying power all tickets, what could I spend it on

Yes, the matrix should be put back to the original matrix. I remember back in the days where you have to stand in line to get a lottery ticket. Greed has taken over everything. USA would be better off with more winners to spread the wealth. Waiting for it to hit a billion + is just ridiculous. Where are all the winners like the lottery promise? It is still the same, also change the lottery to spread the wealth though out the USA and not just hitting in the same places because they have more play... [ More ]

I voted YES. The matrix for both Mega and Powerball should be put back to where they were before.

I would rather see more winners of lower jackpots over fewer winners of monstrous jackpots.

I'm sure nobody would complain if they won a smaller jackpot. You wouldn't take $40 mil?

Bring back the old matrix

Matrix change are rarely, if ever, redone to the benefit of the players.

As LP members pointed out with the latest Powerball change, it become easier to win $4 and a lot harder to win a jackpot.

That's a good question.

When I first posted this, I had raising it in mind.

But perhaps it should be lowered and we can get some of those huge jackpots again.

Up to those statisticians to make the call.

But I do know that ever since they added more balls to the matrix, there haven't been any huge jackpots.

Has anyone noticed that ever since the matrix was redone to make it harder to win there have been no huge jackpots?

Maybe those balls don't get mixed up enough
