Which reminded me of this cop joke...

A police officer attempts to stop a car for speeding and the guy gradually increases his speed until he's topping 100 mph.

He eventually realizes he can't escape and finally pulls over.

Oh how I wish my Never Agains would come to fruition:

Never again would I have to do my own hair (which I am not good at but can't afford to go to the salon regularly)

Never again would I have to worry about living paycheck to Monday

Never again would I have to put off medical/dental work because I don't have the money

For me:

No more flying southwest (or coach for that matter).

No more count down timer counting down the years to retirement.

No more housework.

No more juggling vacation days so there is enough for aged parents and maybe, hopefully, a few days for us to relax.

bigbuckswede, You may want to reconsider not buying Umbrella Insurance. Also called Excess Liability Insurance. Each millionaire and richer has a target on their back. As long as you are rich you will need this type of coverage. You will operate all of your new vehicles with a sense of calmness. You will live on your property peacefully.

This one is easy. I have already done this:

Stop answering to e-mail, only allow approved senders.

Throw away the alarm clock Bill Murray style (Groundhog Day) and sleep until I awake.

Never argue with idiots, just leave the conversation (not really lotto related)

Never buy used cars or similar from other than retailers. See point above for reason.

Never shop food from cheap food chains like Lidl.

Never do home improvement or yard work that s are dangerous or above my knowledg... [ More ]

I think it is interesting how we old timers think along the same lines. Cooking, cleaning, yard work, house and car maintenance... stuff we have had to learn and do most of our lives, and yes it would be nice to not be required to do them. I remember my dad having me check to see what was wrong with our water heater when I was young. I wouldn't do the normal maintenance around the house. For ex; With all the rain we're getting a couple of the vent pipes that go through the roof leak. So when and if it ever stops raining, I have to go up on the roof with roofing asphalt and patch them up. I've never been afraid of heights (used to work in a shipyard in Lorain OH), but the roof on my house is kinda steep, and I am getting a little old and not as steady as I used to be. I've been up there before, not looking forward to it.
