Wow. That is a tough one. Not win and have a chance to win $100, $200, $300 million, in 3 or 4 days, or not win and have a chance to win $15 or $40 million in 3 or 4 days. How could I possibly figure out which is better and which is worse

I know there are members who do really well as predicting which numbers but it seems to me that reading some members aren't good money management.

As someone once told me it's better if someone won a state lottery than the big 2 lotteries. Bigger odds and they don't favor anyone.

Just my two cents. No I don't want to see this go to $1 billion although its $492 million dollars off from getting there. It would take till early next month to do it and it's not good.... [ More ]

Unless a player megaplies, which I always do. Then second prize is 2 mil, 3 mil, 4 mil, or 5 mil. That's instant retirement for me.

There was another thread on here that listed the sales for this round and a MM round in 2014 and the sales are far below what they should be. So unless 449M brings out far more people than 415M, the most we'll see is a sole winner.

I just started playing LDL in Feb

Before that it never appealed to me but the fact there seems to be more winners and somewhat better odds (Still extremly unlikley you will ever win anything) made me start buying

I do one line for 14 draws (Both day/evening draws). So $14 a week and I usually win back a few bucks so its not total loss

I am thinking of cutting back on Instant tickets and playing two lines of LDL for a while to see how it goes. $28 is a bit steep for 2 lines in 14 draws b... [ More ]

I agree, Illinois lotto has become really bad with only one, maybe two winners in a year. Lucky Day lotto is looking better to me, there's a winner about once a week. It's too much to play every day with twice a day drawings, but once it gets up to 800,000 or more, it's worth a try.

Coincidentally The Michigan 6/xx game is an RNG game and while the Mega Millions is not producing any winners the Michigan 6/xx RNG game has, all of a sudden, been paying out the Wazoo with many many small jackpots without the odds having been changed at all!

I believe it may be setting a record for how often it is paying out the RNG jackpots

That was one person and one post and suddenly the poster is speaking for everyone???

Mega Millions is setting a new record and that record is most number of rolls before the jackpot is won.

If they are going to give it away quarterly or every six months or every year then they should convert it into a raffle with 1,2, or 4 draws per year!

Lucky for Life should be a raffle too because they seem to want to award only 1 jackpot per year so I don't play LFL... [ More ]

Go on usamega and see how many hit 5+0 on the last MM and PB draws. The Tx MM 5+0 winner won 5 mil because he played the megaplier.

Problem is state lotto's are following example and changing matrix as

Illinois Lotto got harder to win and now it just an endless # of rollovers with very few actual winners. It goes months without a winner at times

Smaller jackpots with more winners would be so much better

While everyone is bemoaning the big jackpot, (which is the reason people play), the smaller jackpots that folks also want is right there. Getting the first 5 numbers pays a million dollars without the multipliers, and most draws there are 1, 2, or more that win that.

Changing the matrix to make it easier to win the jackpot would kill the games. PB and MM aren't for everyone. But they are for the people that want and like big jackpots. For those that don't, there the state lottos, pick 5 games... [ More ]

Since the number range is so high for PB MM [PB = 5/69 1/26; MM = 5/75 1/15][I ignore the Odds], I play computer picks, b/c the computer is just as likely to choose the right combination of 5 winning numbers on the same line, as I am [my choosing the Jackpot numbers would be a long shot].

I remember that post. It explained something along the lines of this - If the odds are 258 million to one then more than 129 million tickets need to be sold for there to be a 50/50 chance of a hit because of all the duplicate combos.

Course it was more in depth than that.

This is why somebody suggested not on this site but someone here where I work at claims that every state should have their own built up lottery jackpot writer than the big ones.

Best advice is just play at your own risk and just be careful and watch what other people's numbers are not everyone is going to win and some people will

I started years ago with making an occasional trip to Wisc to buy lotto America tickets.

I have been at it near 25 years and they just keep making it harder and harder to win!

I'm not winning...well...whatever...but nobody is winning much of anything G D it!

The lotteries have changed their matrix structure to create exactly what is happening...bigger jackpots with less jackpot winners!

Most people, myself included, would rather see more people winning smaller jackpots more often and not have it rollover week after week with no winner(s).

Since you have to be in it to win it , I buy at least one ticket per drawing. Otherwise, there's no chance at all of winning.

This is why I hate the big jackpot games. It seems when the pot is way up there

and the buying frenzy is on, how can it rollover to begin a new frenzy? The odds

are terrible and one or a couple tickets are going to win at some point but with

the millions sold, why isn't it more winners and a faster reset? I searched for a

post here explaining how quick picks are selected from pools of numbers and

how the chances of winning change as percentages of pools are used up...I can't
