I suppose the difference is the numbers from lottery terminal QPs are printed on a ticket and can actually win a prize, but numbers from QP generators, lottery combination generators, or any type of RNG must be copied onto play slips.

So far, my philosophy is if you're going to buy 1 ticket...do a quick pick. If you're going to buy 10 or 100, pick your own lol.

On several occasions, the quick picks often duplicate numbers in a ticket. Atleast with picking your own, you can avoid that and also if you have only a 5 or 10 mega balls to pick from, you can hit them all. Quick picks are stupid. That's the point. The two terms mean two different things in our common slang. Just because they are the same thing physically, doesn't mean they are the same thing linguistically. Alaska is geographically and weather wise close to Canada nd far from the US but legally and politically, Alaska is closer to Florida in many different ways than the Yukon. It sounds as if you are relating RNG's to the selection of winning lottery numbers only. Yes, these can (and have) been rigged. However, in the scheme of programming they are both identical. It is just terminology. Quick Pick is a phrase coined in marketing. The actual selection of the Quick Pick numbers is by RNG's, for both pre-draw number selection, and (in some states) actual winning draw numbers.

Whether by atmospheric noise, pseudo-random number algorithms, PHP based mathematical generation, or any randomized computer selection method, I always thought a Quick Pick Generator and a Random Number Generator were one and the same.

I played my own numbers and the same numbers for a couple of years. I looked at them again and decided that there were too many birthday numbers. Now I play Quick Pick.

70% of the winners are QP's because 70% of the players buy QP's.

Like Bunky Barlett said after winning in Maryland, I left it up to the Universe to manipulate the machine .

Mostly my own...occassional QPs see if any trends...and for the bigger games I like partial QPs....play my top 2 or 3 and let the computer pick the last....

I sometimes buy QP's if i'm in a rush or if i just feel it but most of the time i pick my own numbers. There are enough random variables when it comes to the lottery, I want to hae at least some control over whether i win it. Besides i'm from a small town and my college is in a small suburb so the chances of the few places in either getting the magic quick pick are minuscule compared to the amount of places in NYC or LA and it would be nice to finally have them be known for something....
