If neither gets won, then Mega will rise to 1 Billion first. That said, I'm winning Mega tonight and everyone will cash in their mega tickets tomorrow and buying Powerball with it so that'll be won tomorrow. By the end of the year or early next year, we'll see Powerball reach a billion.

With the Mega Millions jackpot at half a billion dollars it is finally attracting attention and growing. The most recent jackpot increase was 19% over last draw. Powerball's most recent increase over last draw was 12%. Based on the current MM jackpot amount, if it were to continue to roll, it should easily reach one billion before the PB jackpot would. However, if given jackpots of equivelant levels it appears PB edges MM in jackpot increases.
