Good catch with the 1948 births.

I've always wondered about 1947;

The US Army Air Corps became the US Air Force.

The Navy training flight was lost over the Bermuda Triangle and the rescue flight was also lost.

A private pilot flying over Washington state said the phrase UFO or flying saucer, a reporter used it and it stuck.

Roswell.

(I think this was 1947) A documents was signed that would make Israel a state in 1948.

Nazi's had operational flying saucers in the 40's. After the war ended, DOD started Operation Paperclip, which involved importing Nazi scientists to work for US rocketry missile labs here (Vandenberg Air force base in CA desert especially) and secret labs in Latin America.

Fear mongering tactics by the Governments are as old as humanity, so UFOs are probably locals, rather than ET visitors.

Just received this unsolicited email from Charles on subject purporting to be the Rest of the Story, not verified but no negative Snopes either.....

A local newspaper 'The Roswell Daily Record' US Army Air Official announcement reported that the US Army Air Field had recovered a ''flying saucer . Later the report was questionably changed to say it was a government weather balloon.....???
