Conservatives and Republicans oppose the minimum wage, support homophobia, support women dying from illegal abortions etc etc, it's pretty clear which side of the spectrum has concern for human life. After reading many of these I am not sure what I would do, but I do know I would want to make a positive-local-direct effect with large winnings. Maybe help a small American manufacturer compete and gain market share from foreign competition - thus American jobs

I live in a small town, and I'd just like to do things here and there that help the community. Recently a historic building and business burnt down, and they plan to rebuild it. Something like that, I would really like to help assist financially with.

Scholarships and sponsorships. High School Equestrian Team, FFA, 4-H. (Probably other sporting events, as well.) Im sure there would be things I would want to do down the road, but those are some things I have always thought of when it comes to... [ More ]

I've volunteered at 4 places ( 2 food banks, a homeless shelter and a non profit that ships stuff to other countries) and those 4 places are gonna get big donations. I'm not gonna give to any of the big charities that use 99% for administration and overhead .

Now that is an awesome idea! It is absolutely astonishing how many people struggle just to get to work. Sometimes a choice has to be made between spending the money on transportation ... or being able to eat lunch or dinner. What a help that would be to many people

One charitable act I have had is to set up a foundation for people in shelters that have a job but have a hard time getting to work. For example, buying buses passes. Something along those lines.

These are all wonderful things to do. The idea of fixing up old run down buildings for AFFORDABLE housing for the working class and poor is a great idea. Housing is a major expense.

The idea of supplying animal shelters food, beds etc. appeals to me, paying for some peoples groceries, paying off several stores layaways at Christmas and whatever is done is done anonymously is for me. With the $175 million that I will win tonight, I could support our local police, sheriff, and fire department by paying for the gifts for the innocent children they encounter. Gifts like teddy bears, blankets, dolls or action figures,bicycles, and more.

Food pantries in my area and where I used to live would definitely get money from me. I like the food truck idea mentioned earlier. Christmas would be my shining time for giving, for sure. The most fun for me would be giving anonymously to people, then seeing the glowing look on their face when they see someone cares.

May-be 3 times a week, go to a supermarket in a low income areas and pick people to pay for their groceries. And if they don't have enough items in their cart, tell them to get more. The other thought was to pay a food truck to go to where I saw a lot of vets/homeless people and feed them, not sure of what meal: breakfast, lunch or dinner. I do not trust charities just to give them money.

I have a few older relatives who need their homes fixed up better. I would help them first. Homeless shelter and food pantries here always need things. A PB winner in SC set up scholarships for kids who don't qualify for the one the lottery funds. That's a thought too--to help kids get a better start.

There are a couple ladies at work who had breast cancer, in fact one is having to under go treatments again after treatment last year. I know the med bills have to be outrageous, so I would pay off their med bills.

There are other things, depending on the amount won, but my 2 friends would be at the top.

The latest Lottery Post news story https://www.lotterypost.com/news/305371 is about a GA man (Ronnie Music Jr) who won $3 million in the GA Lottery and invested wasted the money in a crystal meth ring.

This got me to thinking about what I would do when I win the lottery.

Besides paying off my debts, helping my family and buying all of the things I would want (within reason), I would want to do some good with the money that would benefit those that are less fortunate.
