Since January, there have been 3 400+ Million dollar jackpots, people are getting tired of spending money chasing a jackpot that they never win. A lot of people will jump in once it gets to over 550M.

Is anyone but me wondering why the jackpot has not growed more than it has, I mean at 478 million can you not wonder why, has everyone quit buying tickets, or is there no transparency, just wondering.

Lack of sales. The Pennsylvania judge who won Powerball in March for example was supposed to get 192 Million in Cash but when they did the sales analysis they reduced it to 191.7 Million (I'll take it) The 311 Million annuity a few draws back was reduced to 302 Million by the drawing time but unfortunately there was no way to tell if the cash value had dropped.

How and or why would the cash value drop?

The 3 winners of the $1.6 bil Power Ball drawing received approximately $327,835,078 cash before taxes. So, yes, if there was a single jackpot winner on Saturday, the cash value of $330.6 mil would net them more than each of the three winners individual take.

Not bad for a $2 investment! I'll take it any day

If the cash value doesn't drop and there's a single winner on Saturday, then the sole winner would get more Cash Pre-Tax than the 3 billion dollar winners if Cash is chosen by the lucky person. 2016 will be in lottery terms known as the era of monstrous jackpots by future generations.

I have good news and bad news.

The bad news is you didn't win the Power Ball jackpot Wednesday. The good news is nobody else won either. There were no jackpot winners in Wednesday's (7/27/16) Power Ball drawing.

Four tickets matched 5 of 5 to claim second prize. Three of the four tickets were purchased in OHIO, PENNSYLVANIA and VIRGINIA and will collect $1 mil. each. The fourth ticket was purchased in FLORIDA, but that ticket holder paid an extra dollar for the Powerplay option and will co... [ More ]
