I would only tell those that need to know.

Other than them, I wouldn't tell anyone. If I wanted to help them or give them money I would do it without them knowing it was done with lottery win money.

I hear you CT. My Father gave me this advice that he said his father handed down to him. Stay away from the three P's he was told. When I asked him what Grandfather meant by that he said Priests, Politicians Prostitutes. l never asked whether Grandpa was burned by any of the above, if he did, he took that to the grave with him.

Lawyer, Financial Adviser, Accountant I would tell My Son (he's my caretaker) but wouldn't tell him how much, Especially not Tell my Daughter, she would all of a sudden start being in contact w/me again an need money, she already wiped me out 2-3 times! Nope NEVER AGAIN!

Arizona Player I would do th same but put it in a LLC, Trust I think you can remain ANONYMOUS that way, Had a talk about It before on here

I am thinking that I will take my winning ticket to the Lottery Office and have them just validate it. I would get the ticket and receipt back and place them in a safe deposit box. I will contact the Lottery Office first before going there and ask them if I could do that.

This will not work if the winner lives far away from the Lottery Office.

I wouldn't tell anyone outside of my immediate family, and I'd probably delay telling even them. Arizona gives winners 90 days of privacy. I'd claim the prize, buy a house elsewhere, give my 2 weeks notice, and be long gone before my name became public.

Obviously if you married, your spouse gets to know. How about the gf, bf- do they qualify or is it on a need to know basis especially if you *think there is a possibility of the relationship going south?
