I don't know about you or the other members on LP, but as they say.... You have to pay to play , You have to be in it to win it and A dollar (or 2) and a dream.

Since it only takes ONE ticket to win, that's all I buy. If it's meant to be, it will be whether I (or anyone) buys 1 or 1,000.

Buying more tickets doesn't change the odds of each of your tickets being a winner, it only gives you more chances to hit. Play with your head, not over it!

Lol, I thought you were going to add more to it. I often scroll thru my states winners list, and most of the people look like they've gone thru hell and back. Sometimes I ask myself, did they have to SPEND $20,000 to win that $500,000? Even at the stores, the people buying tickets seem a bit frazzled . Like, instead of spending $100 on lottery, a nice pair of Nikes would be a better investment. Lottery needs to start putting makeup on these people lol.

Quick pick or self pick doesn't matter. Hot number cold numbers doesn't matter either.

All that matters is that the numbers on your ticket match the ones that are drawn. How they got there, doesn't matter as well.

Exactly so if 70-80% claim the jackpots are from qp's then why not include that in the basis of picking your own numbers or strategy. When I play I usually incorporate both into my play. But I understand most people get there tickets in one shot.

Yes, winning a lottery doesn't happen in sequential fashion. None of us are likely going to get two numbers and then three numbers and so on until one of us wins a nice amount. It will test your patience enough to quit, I know it has tested mine, but one draw can turn a habitual loser into a big time winner. That is the nature of this beast.

If you look at the payouts for NY Take5, you will see that a lot of the winners are QP or FP.

If you get just 2 numbers right, you receive a free QP ticket for the next drawing. Those people that got the free QP ticket were probably going whoo hoo...I won a free QP... wow. But, the next day they were jumping for joy seeing they won 30, 40, 50 or 60,000.

The Jackpot is 1: 575,000 and winning the smallest prize is 1:9.6

I had over a 50% chance of winning the smallest prize and still lost. I see the value of playing the smaller games but personally I'm just too unlucky to waste my money on jackpot amounts that are too small for me to dream about retiring.

I have been playing oregon megabucks on and off for 20 years in november on this year and powerball on a usual regular basis for that time. I just spent $5 on a last minute decision to buy 5 NY Take5 tickets and didn't win anything at all. Playing better odds is a pretty bad strategy given how difficult it is to win anything. I'm sticking to the big lotteries from now on because atleast i can dream big.

I have workouts for Pick 3 and Daily 4.

Texas has four drawings per day.

I once thought that processing combined drawings was a good choice, but I don't do that anymore.

I decided to play Pick 3 Day, so I only processed the Morning draw.

I chose the Evening draw for Daily 4, so I only update the Day drawing.

I have a different, but related, workouts for Cash 5, Two-Step and Lotto.

A unique workout for Triple Chance.

I do understand about the silly threads and people expressing their frustration. I just take it in stride as we are on a lottery forum where most of us will be no better off than where we are now 10 years in the future. That is unless we make other changes in our lives. I've been playing since the mid 1980 s. Back then, I had no idea what the odds were. Really, I only realized how high the odds were on jackpot games when I moved to Texas around 1998.

Having said that, I really like playing games that are hard. Even Pick 4 straight is hard to hit, that's 1 in 10,000. All it takes is one ticket, and if you don't have a ticket you most certainly will not have any chance at all.

Just because a jackpot game has hard odds doesn't mean it's a bad game. If you spend more than a handful of minutes getting some random numbers,whether QP or SP, then you shouldn't play in the first place. Accept the odds, spend a little entertainment money, and hope to win something.

With all due respect, I use a systematic paper/pencil workout using substitution.

While I can't say I've won a jackpot - mainly because I don't play the predator jackpot games - I do win now and then.

It's a matter of a having a solid data base having clues that help answer the 'what's next' questions.

Play the right game for u. Don't be greedy. Use the right strategy (not necessarily this flubber algorithms and math floating around here that'll just help you bypass time usually.. while never gaining a profit). We all went the Mega or Powerball but let's be realistic when it comes to the games the lottery offers first and foremost. Just my take on it.
