Yup, the PA ticket became unreadable in 1/2 the time of the DE ticket.

I held a lighter about 4 below NY Lottery and CT Lottery tickets. As you can see, they were both scorched (not burned) by the heat.

I scanned both tickets on my all-in-one and that did not affect the tickets in any way.

There are no keep away from heat warnings on the back of either ticket.

Never had a problem w/ any ticket on any copier, but yeah try it w/ loser first.

Be sure to use a recent loser B/C of unannounced changes to paper or printing methods.

The PA ticket has that warning, the Jersey and Delaware tix do not.

I'm guessing MD tix also have it

I was in PA yesterday and a friend gave me a ticket from there to repeat the experiment.

You should keep your jackpot winning ticket readable in sight on the dashboard. Make circles around the winning numbers. That way gangsters can steal your car with the ticket! Also bump your head against the wall 100 times and say thank you lord

This is just another reason to check your tickets soon after the drawing. Why stash it away only to either forget about it or let the sun and heat destroy it

The tickets were in plastic play slip holders which was probably the reason they faded. I knew the tickets were not winners, but I still won't be leaving tickets there any more.

If a ticket gets wet, such as when you wash your wallet, don't put your ticket in the microwave to dry it out, it will burn up. However, putting dollar bills in the microwave is okay to do.

It says on the back of the ticket: Ticket(s) are heat sensitive. Do not expose to prolonged periods of excessive heat or light.

In another topic, can't remember which one,

someone mentioned tickets that were damaged by the heat when left in the car.

I took 1 from Jersey and 1 from Delaware and placed them on the dash, 4 days later the Delaware ticket is mostly unreadable.

The Jersey ticket is OK. Always thought Jersey tix were thermal paper, now, not so sure.
