Lived in Wa all my life..

It's Oregon that I visit 6 times a year to see friends and play Megabucks... Once or twice a year they also do a raffle, and I try to play that too...

The tax avoidance is only valid if you live in Washington. Otherwise, you owe tax to the state you lived in at the time your purchased your ticket.

I play powerball and mega millions in WA only- no state tax on lottery winnings...

I also play Wa lotto(6/49)

Oregon Megabucks(6/48)

and Wa Hit 5(5/39)

All 3 of those games I have different numbers for their respective matrixes, I just use the same ones over and over...

I can see playing the same numbers in more than one state for the state lottery games, but not for the jackpot games like Mega and Powerball. It's the same game no matter what state you play in.

I use advance play--I buy a quickpick line for Powerball, Mega Millions and Louisiana Lotto for either 10 or 20 draws. Saves me from having to keep stopping in the convenience stores.

I play my own numbers, so I use advanced play... Playing in both Wa and Oregon, I have it easy because I can buy advanced draws for 2 months out at a time... Now when jackpots get really big like the powerball one earlier this year, I will stop in and buy QP's in between those advanced draws...

I buy what I want the day of the draw. Advance play is for if you want to put your numbers in for an additional week or 2 and don't want to keep running out to the store everyday it does get hectic sometimes
