I agree with you even though I do play megamillions. Powerball is worse. Ever since powerball with the powerplay originally was awesome and they changed that one.

Then again odds are rediculous. Mega millions I come so close. So I will check out what you have and see if I can comprehend it or not.

I understand now I see your table.

Great equation. I worked this out 15 years ago and I remember it took me many hours to do so.

This equation is a much faster way of doing it than what I come up with back then.

if you are using excel, it is easy to setup.

just subtract the first, left most number from the rest and repeat with the result.

small example:

03 04 10 12 (04 -03) (10 - 03) (12 - 03) 01 07 09

repeat with 01 07 09.

01 07 09 (07 - 01) (09 - 01) 06 08

now do again with 06 08.

06 08 (08 - 06) 02

ta-da, simple.

Combinatorial Fractalization helps transform those inner sets from 16 - 38 taken 4 at a time to 1 - 23 taken 4 at a time by subtracting 15 from all the numbers in that subset.

It essentially becomes a subset of combinations and follows all the same rules for combinations based on Pick 4 of 23 numbers.

To transform the subset (sub lottery) of Pick 4 of 23 back to the set in the Pick 6 of 49, just add 15 to all the numbers.

I know the odds are crazy. The way I have been using LSA is to transfer all the 5/75 combinations from the Draw Combinations generator to excel. Eliminate all of the prior numbers played as any given 5 number combo is not likely to repeat. Next is where it gets kinda complicated I use the prediction function of LSA looking at the number predicted for the next draw to see how close LSA got to predicting the actual number. I use the numbers with the best prediction range for any given settings in

To get back to the Pick 5 combination from the Pick 3 of 33 sub lottery,

add 07 to each number.

If you find a subset of 02 07 19 for the Pick 3 of 33,

then they become: (02 + 07) (07 + 07) (19 + 07) 09 14 26.

This subset is applied back into the 07 XX XX XX 41.

It then becomes 07 09 14 26 41... Ta-Da

Hi JADELottery, I am having difficulty in understanding this data, I assume this table represents all two ball combinations, if this is the case I dont understand how any number is above the value of Cdist (75,5,1,1,2,2) = 62,196, however you have Cdist (75,5,1,1,2,3) = 119,280, I dont see how you can have more pairs than the base pair count Cdist (75,5,1,1,2,2)

Am I interpreting this incorrectly

If the draw is not in ascending order, then the draw is not a combination, it's a permutation.

The analysis becomes kind of pointless; since, by column, every number would have the same distribution value.

In this case, for a Pick 20 of 70 number set, every column would be a value of P(70 - 1, 20 - 1) = P(69,19) = 5,626,419,676,339,425,678,976,955,645,952,000

Yes, correct.

Ball placement probability among other things can provide a user with the information to locate their chosen numbers in the best possible positions on tickets.

Looking at the chart above, the combination 13, 23, 29, 36, 37 would be a bad choice whereas the combination 1, 19, 38, 57, 75 has the highest hit probability you can choose for this draw.

LSAv7, I have put so many hours to this yet it still won t be available until next year, I code LSA myself and simply cannot justify putting other developers on to this as they work on bread and butter projects for me.

LSA is a labour of love, over the years I have logged user suggestions and v7 is to implement many of them making a lot of work for myself.

The best approach is this.

The draw as with any draw follows a fixed set of rules based upon the rules in this case 5/75, these never change, the graphs show this.

What I would do if I were to play this draw is do the math to find when each number should appear.

So graph 1 show ball 1 appears in 1,150,626 combinations of the 17,259,390 different possible combinations found in 5/75

So 17,259,390 / 1,150,626 = 15

So ball one should appear in ticket position one on average once every... [ More ]

What if I picked numbers like this:

2_ 3_ 5_ 6_ 7_

2_ 2_ 4_ 4_ 6_

In my experience Mega and Powerball numbers land in between 3-5 groups.. powerball having 1 less group..

But there are 7 groups

0_ 1_ 2_ 3_ 4_ 5_ 6_ 7_

Could choosing the first digit of the sets of groups and leaving the second digit to fate, luck or some calculation give a better chance than showed in these graphs
