Okay, trying something a lil different today ... using all 23 of the JP23 numbers with 3 power numbers to keep the sets to a minimum. I have 2 sets here, same base pool just different power numbers. Let's see what happens!

Yes, I totally agree that one can over-think things at times ... but since I know that I am coming from a place of keeping it simple I will stand on what little I've previously posted about this game. Every and any approach CAN and possibly WILL deliver a win over time, and yes its still from a pool of 39 ... my point being that it will still take a multi-faceted approach when you KNOW going in that the operations behind the scenes is doing the hokey pokey to decide which NON-RANDOM method will... There is such a thing of over thinking things. Even thought they use two set of methods to generate the numbers, the numbers that come out will still be from the pool of 39. When I use my laptop, I don't think about what 'coding' they use to make the mouse move this way or that way. When I turn on my TV, I don't care about what circuitry makes it work. G5 posted that yesterday he didn't play his sets and could have win a few lines (out of laziness to not get out).

This has happen to all of us I think (me it was a pick 4 I could have won straight). Since then nothing stops me from playing my numbers once I pick them

Yes, that's exactly the standpoint I come from ... it IS possible to win; just not with some of the pre-conceived notions that can be used with mechanical ball-type games. Especially coming from the starting point of using A+ software to do it ... don't get me wrong, it definitely helps with the process but it calls for other variables to be thrown into the mix.

I haven't had any coffee yet so I'm going to go make some, have my usual mega-sized mug and come back ...

I agree about Grp's 6 and 7 for tonite.

I say that because until September, the thirty's have been the strongest group all year. (Six out of 8 months the thirty's saw the most balls drawn for the month, with at least 41 hits drawn. Four of those six months had 45, 46 or 47 balls drawn.)

In Sept, it's been a different story. As of last nite, only 25 balls from the thirty's have been drawn. (The lowest of any number group) Compare that with the twenty's which are leading Sept with 38 balls d... [ More ]

I don't know yet, I'm building a color-coded excel sheet with the history of the game and applying a different approach ... one that I'm still building on. Because its an algorithm driven output the techniques that work in NY's T5 don't work (or at least not reliably) in CA's Fan5.

I may just do that because the only good thing about it (CA5) is that the jackpot rolls over if no first prize winner (unlike T5 where it goes down to second place), so its definitely worth the effort.

The other issue I have is the distance ... I'm in Vegas and it takes me 45 mins to get to Primm (that's the spot ) . This has forced me to play very differently than when I was in NY. I play for at least 7 draws to carry me from Sunday to Saturday, then depending on how I did I'll go back the... [ More ]

The three that showed were all followers of the previous draw, and 6 should have been considered a top follower since it followed each drawn number!

Just to give you some prospective, the last 20 draws starting from 9/5 and including 9/23 breaks down like this:

This is just using the JP23 numbers alone. If you were to 'make believe' that the game is called JP23's 5/23 Take 5 and focus on a strategy with the 23 numbers, you could potentially win more frequently than you have before. I think I may have made an unfair comparison of The JP23 with Lotto News' Best Sets ...

As I said previously, Lotto News is published every two weeks, so they publish 26 sets of Best Sets per year. During the course of the year, their set of 16 numbers changes/evolves, whereas The JP23 never changes. I agree, it certainly is a different approach, and what I think is unique about it is that you offer explanations about why you chose the various numbers included in it.

And... it's as good as anybody else's approach, and most people don't even offer an approach!! That's probably because they probably don't have an approach! Feisty has an approach too, and I like what I see in Feisty's posts.

I don't think I did a very good job of getting my point across in the above two posts. So let me try it this way:

When I used to subscribe to Lotto News, I asked myself this question;

If I played only the 16 numbers they are recommending (for a period of two weeks, because Lotto News comes out every other week) could I have won a jackpot using just those 16 numbers? I tracked how they did with their recommendations for about a year.

I only started doing the JP23 idea since I've been in China. It was just an idea. A different approach. Since I can't really the game, I don't do really heavy analysis (there's no incentive). Being a native New Yorker, I like to peek in and give my two cents.

I sort of answered my own question.

I have a copy of Gail Howard's Lottery Master Guide. In it, there's a page that tells how many possible combinations of five numbers can be created from a set of 23 numbers - 33,649.

From a set of 16 numbers, 4,368 combinations of five numbers can be created.

That tells me that it should be 7.7 times easier to have all five winning numbers appear in The JP23, than it is to have all five appear in a set of 16 numbers.

I'm wondering if you know how often all five winning numbers appeared in The JP23?

The reason I ask is because when I used to subscribe to Lotto News, they'd publish a set of 16 T5 numbers that they recommended people play. I used to check and see if I could have won a jackpot using their set of 16, had I played the numbers from their recommended set of 16. That A+ was right about 12 23 being paired the most.

There was No repeat. No teens and no low numbers. No 30's.

No 10's. 1 even 2 odd from the JP23. Three numbers showed from the JP23. We might see four numbers tomorrow.

Some from group #2,5,6 numbers came out. All scattered.

Feisty, I could not agree with you more about A+!

I haven't been an A+ user as long as you have, but just like you, even though I've had it for about three years, I still learn new things about it's capabilities every day. I'm sure I'll discover more with the passage of time.

Agree too about the A+ steep learning curve.... When I first got it, I found it to be over whelming. I doubt anybody new to it appreciates all of it's capabilities. G5

Ok, I'm trying a couple of things here. Because I like to 10 to show so much, I'm pairing it with 6 and using a 2-power number wheel in the first set. I also like a teen or (high) start since the teens went completely missing last draw and we haven't had a high start in 9 draws, so I have a second set with some overlapping numbers and no power numbers ... let's see what happens!

I forgot to answer your wheel question earlier. I use a bunch of different ones depending on how many numbers are being used, but for the most part I try to always use at least one power number with a pool of 9 numbers. Thanks for the chart. I really thought that #12 21 was the top pair not #23 interesting to have the facts. Thanks for sticking with only the JP23. There's a method to what I'm trying to achieve. The other thread is for all the numbers.

Glad to see you! Was hoping you'd bring some of those analytical skills to this thread! I totally agree that A+ is a little clunky in the way it displays the data, but its all in there ... I've been using it since 2001 and I still learn new stuff all the time! I found it to have a pretty steep learning curve, but once you stick with it the stuff finally starts to seep in.

I'm choosing to only work with the JP23 in this thread, but that doesn't mean I don't look at the other numbers ..... [ More ]

The above chart shows each JP23 and which other JP23 number it has hit with the most. A+ calls these Companion Hits ... I just didn't state how many times each one has hit with it. Sometimes the top hitting other number may not be a JP23 number, so its not listed at the very top, but I went to the trouble to make this vertical so it would show the top most number under the heading is the most hit with number. I'm only interested in the top pair for each of the JP23.

I see that you have 3/9 3/10 and so on. It's not necessary. Just the top of each JP23.

3/6 came out 109 times. This is the only 3 and xx that I will focus on.

6/? What number paired with 6 the most.

9/? What number paired with 9 the most.

10/? What number paired with 10 the most.

and so on.

OK! I have a handle on this now.... and lemme tell ya, gathering the info of what we want to know isn't a trivial matter. There are a whole boatload of pairs here. For instance, #3 pairs with the other 22 numbers. Next, #6 pairs with the other 22 numbers. Then #9 has its own set of 23 pairs...see where I'm going with this? There are 23 sets of 23 pairs involved here!! I do realize that JP asked for only the number(s) that paired the most with each of the JP23 numbers but I thought I'd list them... [ More ]

Working with these lottery program get drive me crazy. I have a program that I have called Expert Lotto version 4. It has too many features and I'm too lazy to study it. I just use the basic stuff. I imagine A+ is the same if not more complex.

It will indeed tell the user how may times any given number has paired with another number. I didn't understand what A+ was trying to tell me, so I totally missed it.

I'm NOT impressed with the format that it displays the information in. And it tells me about all 39 T5 numbers, but we only want to discuss the set of numbers called JP23 . So what I'll do is create an Excel spreadsheet with just the JP23 pairs,... [ More ]

I just looked in A+ with regard to your request to know which JP23 number came out the most with #3 etc.

A+ isn't very flexible. It does tell users which numbers have paired the most over the entire history of T5, (for instance #22 has paired with #34 133 times - making that particular pair of T5's numbers the all time top pair) but it tells you what it wants to tell you. Welcome aboard. I'm liking that #10.

I findfollowers VERY important to the equation.

Another very, very, very important thing is what I call 'pairs'.

Now when I say 'pairs', I don't mean any pair. I'm talking about numbers that fall together because they are what I call married to each other' or in a relationship together. They tend to always fall together. In the pick 3 game I have notice these numbers tend to pair together most of the time.

I haven't posted here very much, but I've been reading this thread every day. As a result, I started paying more attention to followers. (That's something I rarely ever did prior to reading this thread, but I've definitely learned something new, and that's always a good thing.)

Last nite the best I could do was a FP... I had #5 and #21 on the same line. According to A+, #5 has followed #28 7 times in 2016 so that's why I picked it. I chose #21 because it was a longshot having skipped 29 draw... [ More ]

Interesting ... I would have done the same. Just don't forget to cross-reference the hit with chart numbers with whichever leading followers you choose to run with ... you should see some overlap there and you'd be surprised to see how often they do come together.

Not really disheartened ... especially since it was my power number that DID come out. That's ALWAYS a positive!

The 21 was pretty cold, and the 5 though not a JP23 number was also outside of the recent hits range/criteria so the couple of colds that I eluded to did happen as well ...

I'm liking 10 20 to show up together ... so yeah, at least 3 maybe 4 JP23 numbers can deliver.

1st- You're picking a few lines as oppose to so many lines like in the other Take 5 thread.

2nd-You are picking from only the JP23 group. (I know the temptation to veer off and pick the rest of the other numbers is a human instinct.)
