Interesting fact for you... In NY's Take5 (a 5/39 matrix) there have been 44 duplicate sets of 5 numbers drawn since January of 1992 when the game began. (7,000+ drawings) Another way of saying it is there have been 44 times over the life of Take5, where the same set of five numbers has been drawn twice.

Same type of thing has also happened in other states 5/39 games. (Georgia, and California are just two that come to mind) G5

True, but how often does a person beat odds of 1 in 6,109?

Once they do, (unlikely), they still have a 1 in 41 chance. It looks good, but once you break it down like I have, it's a two part picture in which both unlikely parts come together as one at the right time.

Sorry, not impressed. Just like Vtracs in the smaller games. Sure it's easier to follow a smaller group of numbers, but each of those Vtracs represent a group of numbers, meaning cost does not change. Just like Delta numbers,... [ More ]

It's a 5/45 game. While the odds against a 5 number win may be huge, once you have 4 numbers correct the real odds are 1 in 41 of getting the fifth number.

In five number games, the same four numbers often are drawn again, the the larger the game the less often.

I have studied odds. and odds don't tell the whole story. if that were the case then

pic three players would only hit on average of once every 1000 predictions.

to my knowlege (a study done) no lottery with a 6 number draw has ever repeated!

with that being said, 4 numbers have, three numbers happen more often than you might think. there called

triads.

I would first off enjoy the win. go take in a movie, dinner whatever with a smile.

Me..i never pay attention to odds, they dont exist for me..but if it were me i would then come up with another set of numbers for a while an d maybe go back to the originals..lucky you. I also had my regular numbers come up and would have gotten four but i did not play them for some reason..it hurt my soul..lol

I posted a bigger set of combinations for Fantasy 5 California. I scored several 4/5 in a month.

One combination hit twice 4/5.

You can find the combinations in the pick 5 forum where I posted them.

Maybe this hint is helping you to think.

I made the combinations using my own self written program.

4/5 is only 1 in 6,109.

It's an illusion when people win 4 out of 5, without knowing the reality of the odds, and think If they only had the last number for a JP. But to get the last number, you have to make a huge leap from 1 in 6,109, to 1 in 1,221,759.

Congrats on the win, but not as close as it appears. Odds of getting all 5 balls verses 4 balls is 1 in ~200.

Overall odds 1:11

The game is only $1 per play / $2 per day. If it were me, I'd keep playing, regardless. You never know.

It can be said that you have more chance of never getting all five numbers than of getting them.

But as all numbers have the very same chance to come out ALL of the time, it can also be said that you have an equal chance of either winning or not winning the jackpot (same as everybody else who plays).

It is also true that if you don't play then you don't have a chance at all.

But to answer your question:

Hi,

I always play the same numbers. Last night I hit 4 of 5 numbers.

When Illinois added the midday for Lucky Day Lotto, I was aggravated because of the extra cost per week, but I continued to play both draws because I was fearful my numbers would hit. It wasn't an economic hardship, but still aggravating.

Now that 4 of 5 of my numbers have hit, I am wondering what the likelihood is that all five numbers will hit.

Would you stop playing?
