I've won on megamillions a few times ($1-2$) but never on hot lotto. I played the other day just for fun with $3. Nothing.

Its important to understand games with lower odds aren't always better . Or more fair. You're in Tennessee, as me...Tennessee cash and hot lotto just aren't fair to me. With 4 balls right...which I've yet to hit, the payout is low. Same as with 5.

Exactly. I want more bang for my buck. Look at MM vs Hot Lotto for example. I you spent 1 buck and got 5 numbers on Hot Lotto you get 30k where as for MM you get 1 Million. And that's a big if at that. Hitting all 5 numbers without the bonus. Why continue dropping money on something with supposedly better odds when you don't hit anyways but if you ever did, your payout is low.

I've won on some scratch offs in rural areas off the highway. But never in the city (and I mean never, as in only won $2 off a junior jumbo bucks in Nashville).

Tennessee is such a massive state with a ton of lotto retailers. I can't say how many tickets I've bought in the Nashville area and didn't win Jack. $2 here, $3 there, lots of $5 and $10 tickets that in other places I've won the very first time I visited other places. The lottery is bullcrap. On every ticket and every slip, you'll see your state followed by education lottery . It's designed to lose and keep people poor while funding kids college grants and such. Which is fine, because I've used college grants and such and still do.

You have a very healthy approach to lottery playing. I'll admit to buying more than a few tickets when the JP gets really high, or when I REALLY want to quit my job while telling my boss what I think of him.

When a person starts spending money buying books on lottery dream interpretations or can't lose permutations, it starts being about investment. And it should never be about investment.

My views on playing the lottery align with yours as well. I don't play regularly but will spend a buck or two if I am in a retailer that sells it and there are no lines. Jackpot size is not a priority as I would be happy with any winnings.

Some people take playing the lottery too seriously but I on the other hand do not as it's just for fun.

Oh honestly. I hadn't realized that anyone other than the delusional woman in Lucky actually viewed the lottery in terms of investments. Megamillions it depends. Now that I think I have the system to crack the lotteries. The last winning of the powerball was in Trenton Nj and yes Delaware had a winner. The NJ winners I stopped at that 7/11. Sometimes I go to wawa and sunoco it depends.

It was a train wreck with a messy lottery area and few lottery slips and no pencils and they did not care when I told them they had no mm slips out. I am honestly trying to decide whether or not to resume buying lottery tickets again. I was thinking of buying Mega Millions tickets, because at least Mega Millions tickets are still only $1. But not only are the odds slim to none at 1 in 275,000,000, but honestly, I read stories of previous lottery winners, and I know that family members and relatives would fight me over any lottery prize.

My advice is this. Check out different threads.

This is what I have done for the jackpot games since I really don't play pick2 or pick3 here in Philly.

Do a lottery pyramid. Look at the current date. See what adds and subtracts and then take a look in the pyramid. I win $5- $10 here and there. I only spend $40 per month and get so close.

ONce you get a feel for this site then start taking notes. Nothing is guaranteed.

You can make a good amount of income from the stock market in the form of preferred stocks that pays a very good dividend without ever having to sell and get hit with capital gains tax. With a qualified dividend preferred stock, you are taxed at around 15% while non qualified dividend stocks are taxed as ordinary income. Chose wisely...

You got to be lucky to win the jackpot in any game even a 5/39 game where odds of winning a jackpot are less than one in a million.

I prefer to look at the overall odds of winning any prize since winning a small prize once in while makes chasing that elusive jackpot more entertaining.
