I have known earlier versions of MS Office since I was i was first introduced to it in 1994 so please take your foot out of your mouth. I am plenty experienced in excel. Enough so that I can create the most valuable chart that money can buy. If I feel so inclined and it is necessary, (which I don't think it is, I will learn VBA)

I have seen some of your posts and it seems all you can do with VBA is make huge lists of nonsensical numbers.

I agree with you. I do have a computer with 1 Terabyte of memory, and I think that does help with 2016. I have 2013 on one computer in my house, and I don't plan to upgrade to 2016 for that one due to the fear of it being slower. I find that in 2016, the Word processing utility can be very choppy, if you have many other windows or programs open. When I plan to write. I don't don't spend a dime on anything.. there is 2 programs I have that I have to that is something like that Lotto Noddle and another one that's like the one that Todd has for words and phrases. Which was giving to me from the same Guy that build the Pyramid for me from Canada.. he is in a couple of my groups. You meet lots of people on the Internet that give you Ideas about stuff.

None I learned from watching videos but I have my own way of during things. I like to experiment on a few things.. and you more you do it the more it works.. I do have a program set up on my cell phone windows and it builds my Pyramid for me. But this guy from Canada gave me the link and all I do is click on on the link and it builds my Pyramid all I do is put in a date.

There is nothing wrong with a free beer. I use macros to replicate and automate tedious tasks, such as inserting rows, deleting rows, etc. I don't know if Openoffice will cut it, but I don't really care, since I don't use it. But I don't want to send a chart to someone, and then find out they cant open it, or decipher it, since they are using the open source program.

Did you get this definition from Wikipedia? What puzzle are you talking about? I am under the impression that Excel is a spreadsheet utility. VBA is the programming language that underlies all activity within the spread sheet. When I insert an object into a spreadsheet, I do not need to use VBA. Sure I can write some basic code which will manipulate an object, but I don't need to use it. I can just click and point with the mouse. Apache OpenOffice and Libreoffice foundation's libreoffice are free software (open source - free as in freedom of speech and not as in free beer)

There is VBA like macro system in these suites.

MS Excel is a proprietary formatted proprietary software. Expecting same features in Open office is not good.

Instead you can use open office calculations to it's fullest if you learn it similar to MS office.

Excel is a spreadsheet program delivered with VBE. VBA allows the use of Object for a number of different uses.
