I'm sure you have noticed but fame is a big cultural thing these days with social media and cell phones and videos. People are always doing stupid things, filming it, and uploading it to the internet.

As to being hounded by grifters/family/friends, not everyone has a problem saying no. Plus, most people move immediately after winning so contacting them is not so easy.

You know I thought it was because most people dont want the exposure and attention of which I am one of them. But reading LP I have come to realize there are people that do want to have the tv interviews etc. The couple that was one of the winners of that billion dollar win went on the Today show WITH the ticket, before it was even turned in! Marie Holmes went on a show looking for financial advise I guess it was. Now, WHY go on tv? That just sets her up to be the topic of negative conversations... [ More ]

I managed to catch a few episodes, and agree in that while they are reruns, I enjoy watching them for the motivation. And yes, that ASPCA commercial, tugs at the heart, especially since nearly every other month, there is a big animal rescue here in NC. I wish the laws would change, way too many dog and cat hoarders breeders.

Yep, I agree, to give to your local shelter/rescue. It doesnt even have to be $$$, you can give of your time, bedding, food, etc.

I just know I see one of the dogs in that commercial shivering outdoors in the snow and it so breaks my heart I cant watch the commercials. Which is their intent, to separate you from your money. I used to donate to aspca but found their spending was way out of line and it was not going to the animals so I stopped donating. Would love to save all the dogs being abu... [ More ]

I have seen the same commercial a million times. Better to give your money to local rescue groups vs large national ones that spend a lot on admin. costs and salaries.

Saint, THAT is the exact reason I always watch the reruns, no matter how many times it is on.

It reinforces my belief that anybody can win and gives me hope I too, can win.

And it has been some time since the last time it was on. I try to keep looking for the reruns because I know there are lots of people out there who feel like us!

I missed it.. I have not seen this show in awhile.. they use to show it a lot too... even though I seen it so many times.. the show kinda gives me hope

I was changing channel, actually a commercial on abused animals that rips my heart out that I cannot watch, and came across TLC's The Lottery Changed My Life. Of course reruns but seems it just started at 9:00 a.m. PST and will run thru noon.

Happy Watching reruns, maybe one of us will get lucky for a Christmas Eve POWERBALL win!
