I have been playing in 4 decades now and I am tired of them jacking the odds up and, in the case of power ball, the ticket prices too.

I watch and see how many people actually win in my state for each draw and it has become fewer and fewer as the odds go up and the jackpot takes longer and longer to roll to higher levels.

What fun is it playing a game that fewer and fewer people win? If nobody else is winning that is pretty much a sign that I can set my buy-in higher and higher with

I have my PB buy-in set at about $290 million cash because the odds are way high and there are fewer and fewer Jackpot winners...or as I say I have ABQ (All But Quit) the PB.

I will play the 3-ball and maybe the 4-ball. I haven't played mini-jackpot games like the Cash 5 or state jackpot games in a long time, and I pay zero attention to them. The only way that I will play Mega Millions is if there is a Top 5 jackpot on Good Friday or on Independence Day (a Tuesday this year). I will not play Powerball, no matter how big the jackpot gets, because there are no Powerball drawings on major holidays this year.

I won't be playing Fantasy 5 anymore this year since it won't meet my minimum goal of $2 million. I signed up over the phone for Massachusetts' Mega Bucks Doubler which pays out about once a year. A guy from Oklahoma City won last year. So just one trip a month to buy lottery tickets should do it for the year.

The third prize for Powerball with Power Play is at least $100,000 with odds of 913,129 to one, so $30 for a lucky 10 tickets would pay $1,000,000 to $5 million, depending on a multiplier of 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or 10X. Plus there is always the chance of screwing up and winning ten second prizes of $2 million for a total of $20 million, or winning the jackpot.

Kentucky Cash Ball 225 was updated on January 9, 2017. The jackpot is a fixed $225,000 and the odds are now 1,309,000.

You make a good point. I never really thought of it that way because Arizona's highest fixed jackpot is 5 Card Cash's $100,000. The odds are 2,598,960 to 1. The tickets are $2 or $20 for a chance at a million. However, the game can only be played with Quick Pick so there is no way to have ten identical tickets.

I want to win $2 million to $5 million this year, so I will play Mega Millions and Powerball with the multipliers in order to win their second prizes. I would also be happy with Powerball's second prize of $50,000 which is a guaranteed minimum of $100,000 with Power Play.

I didn't like MM when Ohio first introduced it because of the odds and haven't played PB much either. I'll buy $10 or $20 worth of tickets on both games when it looks like there is enough in sales to have an over 50% chance of winning but I won't get caught into buying tickets for every drawing. Only a very small percentage of players win those jackpots so realistically they are playing for the $1 million second prize.

RJ, it takes way too long for the Jackpot to get this high. 20 years ago, when there were fewer games, the 6/xx was a much better game.

Now with the online instants, Club Games, Raffles, Scratchers, MultiStates, and draw games there are too many games and nobody wins anything on any of them.

I know Mich isn't going to get rid of any games but they should.

Ohio improvements included adding multi-states games like MegaMillions, PowerBall and Lucky for Life. I suspect Kentucky done something similar so you didn't miss out on much by moving.

The Ohio Lottery introduced some pretty nice games after I moved. KY is changing it's Cash Ball game with bigger prizes and with higher odds of course.

I track five games played in Ohio, MegaMillions, Lucky for Life, Power Ball, Classic Lotto and Rolling Cash5. I'm likely to play up to three times a week picking a games from that list depending on their jackpots amounts.

Heck I'm gonna stick with Fan Five and Classic 47 and play the MultiStates at my buy in points and not try any other games as I am really tired of losing and not seeing anyone else win either.

The grass must always be greener on the other side of the fence, I was just thinking if Ohio Classic 649 had a payout similar to Michigan Classic 647 I would play it more.

Eh. All the games in my state stink, too. I've given up on scratchers and only play PB, MM, the Calif SuperLottery, which no one appears to win. I was looking at the scratchers because I generally like the designs, but even those looked boring. When they changed the scratchers to have smaller and less top prizes in order to have more smaller prizes, they ruined it.

I was just at the official Michigan website and they have a list of all the big winners in Mich in 2016 and it was pretty depressing.

For me, it is a confirmation of my buy ins on the MultiStates. Nobody won a Jackpot on them In Mich in 2016 which shows the odds are too high.

I'll still buy tickets if the cash amounts get up to my buy in points but it isn't any fun playing games that nobody wins.

I'll probably wind up playing Fantasy Five at certain levels as there are winners... [ More ]
