That's interesting.

Here in Florida, we can request a PDF file of retailers that have books of certain games. They tell us the store name, location, phone number, and number of books active, and number of books in stock/received. The PDF can contain errors, but it is fairly reliable. It surprises me they won't provide you with this type of list in South Carolina.

I did drive around looking for tickets...in fact I believe I visited the store the SCEL press release stated sold the winning ticket, they didn't have any. Trust me, if they did I would have snatched them up. I also called multiple retailers as well prior to contacting the SCEL about tickets being exhausted for this game.

SCEL would not disclose to me which retailers still have Black Ice Millions inventory, only that all available tickets were out in the field. I can only assume they would co... [ More ]

Two theories here:

(1) Both winners won in December and waited until the New Year to claim for tax reporting purposes.

(2) Did you say you drove around looking for tickets or were you able to obtain a request from the SCEL of retailers that had either Active or Received books for sale? If they said it was exhausted did they just means there were no longer any books left in the warehouse? Possible they had this list and were driving around based on it. SC is a lot smaller than FL. So for anyone who has been following this or read the thread. The two $1 million prizes that have been sitting in limbo have now miraculously been claimed a little over two weeks after I sent my first e-mail to SCEL. What's even funnier (and not in a ha-ha way) is that both prizes were claimed within a week of the other with one being claimed on 01/24 and the other 01/31.

All tickets remaining are out in the field at our retailers. No more tickets will be printed for this game.

SCEL finally responded to my e-mail and sent me the following short message. No response to my other questions including if they intend on closing the game early since there are no more tickets available for purchase. They usually start the closing procedures after all top prizes are claimed and typically with these type of games all prizes are claimed within 5 - 7 months of the game s... [ More ]

I'm waiting to see if the SCEL plans to respond to my e-mail I sent last week, but basically the $10 game Black Ice Millions with 3-$1 million top prizes has sold all the tickets available. The only problem with that (at least in my opinion) is that there's still two top prizes remaining and none of the stores I've visited (trust me I've done some travelling the past several days) have any tickets.
