I have won $1,000 4 times with only one of them being on a $20 ticket. I have won $500 just once - it was on a $20 ticket. You would think I wouid have more $500s than $1,000s. So I believe in playing a mix. Sometimes I want to try for a big prize and other times a little extra money would be nice. Have not had any luck on $10 tickets lately so trying more $5 tickets.

I don't play a lot of scratchers but from my personal experience, I have had the best luck on $2 tickets. For me, I seem to always lose on $10 tickets, followed by $1, and then $5. On the $20 tickets, I have won more but I still seem to lose on them 90% of the time. The few times that I do win on them, I simply get my money back.

The $20 and up tickets are your best bet at winning big, but also at losing big...*lol*.

When I found my first $1000 winner on a $25 ticket, I went to the district office feeling all high and mighty. An older gentlemen came in, and cashed his winner on a $5 ticket. I look at the display screen when they scan the ticket, and see that he won $10,000 on a $5 ticket. Big winners exist on lower priced tickets as well.

The odds on some $5 tickets at hitting $1000 is 1 in 8k- 1 in 12k h... [ More ]

In my state the odds ( Overall odds and Cash prize odds ) for the 10, 20, and 30 $ games are very similar. Actually, as you progress to more expensive games (in California) the overall odds decrease and the cash odds become more difficult.

Something to consider- If you (I know you were using it as an example) played 20 $1 tix you would win a few dollars back. Where if you invested it all on just one, you're going to lose 100% of your money (if you did lose).

I think the $20 dollar tickets are the best tickets to play if you want to win. I have hit multiple $100 winners and some $1000 winners. I do play some $10 tickets but think playing less than $10 offers a very remote chance of winning and your just wasting your money. I'd rather buy one $20 ticket than twenty $1 tickets. your thoughts
