Hi LottoYear,

I have been playing the Weekly Grand since they killed Wild Card 2 a year ago. Great odds but bites at $2/ line. I do wish there were better games, and I would be thrilled if they could start a game like your Badger 5. I like the Washington State games like Hit 5 and Match 4. I hope to be moving back there one of these days.

Since they give two lines per $1, they claim that the odds to win the jackpot are 1 in 600,000. In reality, the odds of a line winning are 1 in 1.2 million. Getting an extra line does not eliminate a whopping 600,000 combinations. In a state like Idaho with a population of 1.7 million that is 19% Mormon, it could possibly take 1-2 years for someone to win the jackpot.

I would boycott the game and ask for a game with better odds. Wisconsin's Badger 5 starts at $10,000 and has odds of 1 to 169,... [ More ]

I agree the starting point of 20k and the lower prizes is pretty low. And it will probably take a very long time to grow to a decent sized jackpot. But I will still play a few tickets and see how it goes. Good luck

My state has created a new jackpot game, Idaho Cash . I am just now hearing about it, and tickets can be purchased starting tomorrow. So I'm looking it over, the pros and cons and making comparisons.

On the positive side it's great that it's set at 2 plays for a mere dollar, but the number line stretches from 1-45. And since there is no bonus ball the prizes are pretty low: Jackpot starting at 20 thousand; 4-out-of-5 = $200; 3-out-of-5 = only $5; and 2-out-of-5 a free ticket.
