My sister ended up owing taxes between her and her husband because they won a radio contest to some music festival in Las Vegas two years ago. So you might owe if you win such a prize like that through the lottery.-weshar75

Defintely NOT worth it. These are more like weekend getaways than vacations. The taxes will be over $2600, probably more than if you just planned and paid for the trip yourself.

Most of the packages are only three nights except for the beach house which is five. Everything is designed for two people, but I guess you can put an extra person in the hotel room. The beach house sleeps six. Airfare, breakfast, tickets, and passes are all for two people.

Are the vacations worth the taxes you will be required to pay on them? If they are valued at $10,666 that's a significant tax you will owe.

California is offering additional drawings for second chance entries of what appear to be vacation packages.

Music, Cooking, Culinary, Sports, Adrenaline, Vacation of a Lifetime, Beach. All are for 3 nites/4 days except for the Beach which is 6 nights. They dont say how many guests you can bring but they include airfare. There is no cash option. They say it is worth $10,666. Prizes are transferable to immediate family members only.
