A few years ago when the MM jackpot was really high, I bought some tickets in Michigan. Find out the jackpot winning ticket was sold at a gas station right across the highway from where I bought my tickets. The winning ticket was bought the day before so I really wasn't that close. And missing a jackpot by one numbers isn't that close either considering how many combos there one number short.

When PB reached 1.5 billion, as a joke a guy called his mother at her job and told her she had won. It was reported to the media, too. Really sort of cruel.

Did you also buy in the same store?

I've had a ticket from a winning state a few times and of course there's always a What If moment, but that's is usually all it is. Winning stores aren't released here.

Why were you so nervous on the plane? Were you playing numbers close to the winning combo? You can always get right back on that plane in case of a lotto emergency.

The morning word got out that the mega was won in Albany NY I was on a very early flight out of town.

My cousin called me just before the boarding door closed to find out if it was me.

I was trapped on a plane, without my ticket, on a flight to the west coast......my emotions were all over the place and I was beside myself with panic. but I could not so much as peep to anyone just in case I had actually won.

When I found out it was someone else's win I was gutted.
