The 10x came up just this last Wednesday.

I hit only the PowerBall, but instead of a $4 win I won $40.

The main reason I buy the PowerPlay is the odds of getting 5 right but not the PowerBall is way better than winning it all.

Thus, that extra $1 will get you an extra $1 MILLION.

I have seen several times 2 players from the same state get 5 numbers corfrect.

One wins $1 Million

One wins $2 Million

(and there only was a $1 difference in ticket prices

I did that too except it was only $10 about on megamillions. Perhaps I didn't realize that I forgot to check my slip and gave the cashier at sunoco $10. He processed it and then I didn't realize it. So I told him just give me quick picks then.

Power play odds are posted-

Looks like they use 43 balls. Below are the power play odds and the number of balls for each number 2 through 5 - and 10 when the jackpot is less than $150,000,000. This may explain why you see more 2's 3's

X 2- 1:1.79 (24 Balls)

X3= 1:3.31 (13 Balls)

X4= 1:14.33 (3 Balls)

X5= 1:21.50 (2 Balls)

X10= 1:43 (1 Ball

If you bought 5 tix with the megaplier, then you spent $10. If you won $6, then you lost $4.

BTW. I bought 5 Mega Millions tickets on Friday with the Mega ball. I hit the bonus # on two tickets. So I won $6 instead of $2.

I made a profit...

My guess is that he probably does not.

It happened in the upstate village of Roscoe, NY which is located in Sullivan County. There's not much there and it's pretty rural, so maybe he still does. It's not like he has a choice of a lot of other convenience stores/deli's there.

I first learned of it when a story about it appeared in The Times Herald Record, a newspaper published in Middletown, NY. G5

There's a bit more to that story...

The clerk was actually the woman who owns the deli. She also owns and lives in the house that is attached to it. The man who refused the ticket lives on the same street the deli is located on. He passes it everyday knowing that there's a woman in that deli who has what could have been his two million dollars. G5

That's the way I always thought about The PowerPlay.

Whenever I buy a PB ticket (which isn't often) I buy the PP simply because I don't pay much attention to the size of the jackpot. Sure, like anyone else I'd love to win millions, but I realize I'm probably not going to and that it's much more likely I could win a lower tier prize.

Also, I never want to know what it would feel like to learn I won a million dollars, but if I had spent one dollar more I could have won two million. Here's w... [ More ]

Powerplay is for the players that understand if they win, it will probably be a lower tier prize and for an extra buck they can double their winnings or more. But when the jackpot is very high like in the last drawing and if I were spending $20, I'd get 10 tickets instead of 7 PPs.

I agree with you. I played the powerplay when it first started with the 10x but after awhile all I saw was 2 and maybe the occasional 3x I stopped. Also the 5+0 numbers don't even multiply so what's the point? The megamillions is way better imo in that regard and it costs $2 the same as 1 powerball ticket anyway.

Like seriously. You throw in the extra dollar and hoping patiently you hit something or anything.

Once in a while it does do a 5. It's been mostly 2x. Why not just bring back the old format which was better? It caught a lot of attention.

There has never been a 10x has there. I am not mad or nothing but powerball odds being what they are it's rediculous.

If they're adding a 10x add to all the drawings and let people win it that way too.
