I agree with you, But if you look around on google and search for quick pick lotto you find alot of things... there were a few that claim if you quick pick your throwing your money away.............. well I see hundreds of quick picks and many winners on the lottery website ( Fla) they show the number of quick picks and there are alot of winners.............

To get a real answer one would have to break a part the 25% of people who pick their numbers manually into distinct groups to see whether they fall under:

Just prefer to pck their own numbers Have a set of lucky numbers such as a birthday that they like to play Pick their own numbers based on a predictive strategy

I think it simply means more people prefer to buy QP's rather than self-pick numbers.

It's very fast and easy to say Gimme two dollars QP for tonites Fantasy Five than to stare at a play slip and have no idea which five numbers to pick. My guess is that most people don't follow or track the numbers very closely, and they feel that it's all just luck anyway, so they don't want to be bothered with choosing numbers to play.

The Florida Lottery sold 6 million PB tickets on 2/22 when the jackpot was over $400 million and sold 1.2 million on Wednesday. They don't give the actual percentage of QPs, but it's a good bet the majority of the extra 4.8 million tickets were QPs.

True and if Floyd's 70% to 80% PB QP ratio is correct than 20% to 30% of ticket sales are self picks.

so does that mean all these statistics and people picking numbers they think will win or those that use those other software ect... to try to get better odds really doesn't work well??

I went out today and purchased 25 fantasy five tickets ( for 5 days) to see over the next five days I can win? that's my 2 month budget for lotto... so I am OUT for 2 months unless I win. I just wonder if quick pick seems to be the way to go

I've read that 75% of all tickets sold are QP's. If that's correct, (and IMHO, I think it's correct) then 25% of all tickets sold have to be player picks.

Therefore it's three times more likely that a winning ticket will come from the QP pool of sold tickets than from the player picked pool of sold tickets. G5

Only if you've never paid any attention. MUSL has been telling people that 70 to 80% of winners come from QP's for at least a decade, and probably even longer.

I am actually surprised that the number of quick picks wasn't about 17-18.

It has been my observation that when the lotteries first started people thought about picking their own numbers ( birthdays etc) and keeping them ,but it wore off fast.

I very rarely see anyone actually present a play slip anymore as most just tell the clerk how many tickets and for what game.

but the amount of winners that quick pick was very surprising..One page had 20 winners listed and out of those 13 were quick picks....

Well, I decided to call the Fla lottery today to get a much better understanding of winning numbers, who wins where and odd of winning ect... Today I decided to look at the reports of the winners mostly on fantasy 5 that play QP ( Quick Pick ) and win. and to my surprise there seem to be more winners via quick pick than those that pick their own numbers.

I wonder how many here if anyone has won on quick picks??
