Here is another way of looking at what you have figured out.

What if you played the 17 with EVERY set of numbers you played for the month of March -

It hit 4 times so far, so you would have only needed to pick 4 numbers out of 39 to win the Jackpot. So 4 times this month your odds would have dropped to 1 in 3,386.81 (per website). Not bad odds for a jackpot win.

Since January 1st, 2001, when Take5 first became a daily game (5,906 drawings until 3/13/17) #17 has been drawn the most of any number having been drawn 821 times.

It was the most drawn number in 2004 (57 hits) 2014 (59 hits) 2015 (61 hits) and 2016 (59 hits). No other Take5 number has been drawn the most in four different years. No other Take5 number has been drawn the most in three consecutive years.

Good suggestion BobP....BUT!!

I don't want them to know about it! I play #17 regularly and have had a very small amount of success doing it. I've won a lot of Free QP's and one or two 3 out of 5's (roughly a total of $40) playing #17.

Of course, if The NY Lottery reads the forums here at The LP, they know all about it now!

BTW and for whatever this is worth, as of last nite, #17 has hit 12 times in 2017, and while it's not the biggest hitter of 2017, it does look like it might have cl... [ More ]

It's something in the sense of, what else better have we got to work with.

My advice would be to contact the New York Lottery and ask when last and how often they destroy the old ballset collection and replace them with all fresh and new balls. There is a two out of three chance after that 17 may no longer be as active.

Hello G5, it's something I think because it's not exactly the middle number but it's near the middle number I think #17 brings balance to the game 17+17=34 34=39 4=9 just my opinion and my thoughts. All I can say I love Number 17 as it's my mother and grandmothers birthday Number and I always play.

In 2014 The New York Lottery held a Take5 drawing (5/39 matrix) every day. #17 was the most frequently drawn number having been drawn 59 times that year.

In 2015 The NY Lottery held a daily (365) Take5 drawing, and once again #17 was the most frequently drawn number. It was drawn 61 a total of times in 2015.

In 2016 The NY Lottery held 365 Take5 drawings, and #17 for the third consecutive year was the most frequently drawn number with 59 hits.
