3-ball and 4-ball numbers games. Most states have a 50/50 payout scheme on these games, while 6-ball games rip off lower-tier prize winners.

The only 6-ball game I will give thought to playing is a game laid out like Ohio's Kicker and a 50/50 payout scheme.

I will play Powerball and Mega Millions only when there is the combination of a record jackpot and the drawing taking place on a major holiday or on my birthday or on February 29.

You're comparing a 50 cent pick-4 box hit with a $1 pick-3 double digit hit. A 24 way (4 different digits) pick-4 box hit pays $200 for $1.

I prefer Pick 4 but Kansas doesn't have a P4 so I'll stick with the Pick 3. But a box hit from P4 is $100. A double here in Kansas pays $160 for a P3 box
