I have a suggestion for when searching for a members recent posts. Currently you can only go back 100 posts at a time. Can you possibly increase that to 500 or even 1,000? And also have a first post option, kind of like the first page / last page option on the threads for when you want to go back to the persons very first post.

The Search page is for searching for any type of text keywords that exist on the entire website, or the forums, or the blogs, or in your private messages, etc. If you want to search for specific numbers or use a lottery system, this is totally unrelated.

How would it benefit me? For example the pick games , cash 5, quinto. The mega and pb i see different systems. I would love to see a member get 5 correct white balls.

What I recently noticed today while looking for my older systems was pretty cool. This was when I was pacattack05 on LP.

Unlike the former Searches I did a couple of years ago, this time when I entered the same key words as before, I saw systems that did not show up with the old engine. I remember being so frustrated when I didn't see the amount of systems I thought I made. No, that's like asking Google not to include all the other websites you're not interested in. It's impossible for a search engine to avoid some noise of stuff you don't want. You have to work with it so that you include the right keywords to make what you're looking for to be shown as high up in the results as possible.

Todd, I use the search option when I am looking up numbers that follows a number. An example 196 often followed by I get a lot of unrelated data. I usually get all post that has the number 196. Any way to narrow down the results to the actual posts for 196 often followed by

I appreciate you responding to my post. I'm not sure what happened last night but the Search page I am using this morning is a big improvement. Kudos on that! I like the idea of keeping it as simple and straightforward as possible but having the ability to do more sophisticated searches if desired.

The only way I could possibly know is with a screenshot. There's no caching that happens, but since the change was made last night, maybe it was being installed at the time you ran the search.

Last night I did the test twice before posting. This morning, when I attempt to duplicate the test, I notice right away that the Search page looks different than it did last night. Is it possible that I was running cached code in a situation analogous to the situation with the cached text-entry code when you did that update? Or maybe, as you say, I clicked something else.

When I search Forums for Dream Team, the current April thread is shown on the first page of results (the 5th result), which is not what you're describing.

Also, even when I search All for Dream Team, the current April thread shows up on the first page of results (the 7th result).

I noticed last night. When I type in Dream team in the forums , instead of posting the current month that everyone is posting on at the top, it just put random posts from the old threads that are no longer current and I can't even locate the current month for the thread. I was wondering why. I now have to just search all active topics to find the thread.

You should not have to hit the Forums button again to add search terms. You just add your additional search terms (or change the existing ones) and press Enter (or click the Search button). It should not revert to All . Maybe you clicked something else

The only thing missing is for example if I want to search for:

keydigits on posts made by LANTERN on the pick 3 forum, for example, that is:

Forums + Username on the top menu

And Date Range (All History) and Forum (Pick 3) below:

On the Search box = Keydigits (forum) Lantern (Username).

Other than that, your search function is great as it is right now.

That works pretty well. The gotcha I experienced was that the search location (in my case, Forums) did not persist when I expected it to. For example, when I did a Forums search very similar to your example - Pick 3 183 655 - I got about 316 results. When the search returns the results list, it leaves the search term in the dialog box. It also leaves the search location button (Forums) highlighted. This fooled me into thinking that the search Location(Forums) would also have been retained so tha... [ More ]

Awesome! I've had mixed results when it came to searching using the website, so sometimes I just refer to searching

in Google with lottery Post in the search bar along with what I'm searching for.

If I can suggest an option for searches, since I can't see to find anything like this, can we get an option

to search for something like threads/posts that was STARTED by a person?

I'm looking for some feedback from people who regularly use the Search page to search the forums and blogs.

(NOTE: I am not talking about searching using the Lottery Results Search Engine.)

This would be for text searches of just the forums or just the blogs. So, it would be a search by going to the Search page, and then selecting either Forums or Blogs before typing the key words to search for. It's not the All search that you get by going to the Search page and immediately typing the key... [ More ]
