I'm not denying the fact that there have been rigged drawings. What I question is that the rigging is being performed/allowed/conducted by the various state lottery commissions/personnel themselves. As I see it, that is what is being implied here by Hotdawg3984. Maybe he'll come back and shed some more light on this...or maybe his work is already done here.

I have no idea what point Hotdawg is trying to make, but it's a fact several lottery drawings in several states were either rigged to produce a specific outcome or there was a malfunction creating a second outcome. One of the first and most notable example was the PA pick-3 drawing in 1980. There were several discussion on RIGGING including this one.

If someone wants to start a discussion, I'm all for it. On the other hand, if someone has a secret theory/issue with the lottery possibly being rigged, I'm willing to listen, but give me something to listen to!

No not really, I just didn't like the title of the thread. Its misleading. Look up simple random sampling and unbiased random sampling. That's how the balls are picked and that's why people claim the lottery is rigged. Because they don't understand these simple concepts. Each draw is unique or independent by its own randomness. People will never understand that.

Feasible and probably do not = factual. If you are just sharing your vision or view of how the lotteries are being conducted, then fine, it's your right. BUT, if you are accusing a state(s) lottery of being rigged/dishonest, and in turn attempting to convince others that they are being scammed, then for your own benefit, you'd better be able to back it up with stone cold facts.

If you can't do that, then do your trolling elsewhere.

Is this a serious question? How the numbers are picked? From NY, so we don't do RNG's and it's seeds. But 10 balls are placed in each chamber and click, 1 ball comes out. Yeah the NYL makes millions each day, but a percentage of that money does go to charity. Another percentage goes to advertisements, which NYL has a lot of, and anybody from NY knows advertising ain't cheap. But there are bad auditors and sloppy ones as well. Look at the goofball auditor who messed up at the Academy Awards by mixing up envelopes and taking selfies. And he was a partner! And they did not fire the guy and kept the firm's contract for next year. I do think it is possible for occasional anomalies to occur but not necessarily always like the hot lotto level.

One other point I forgot to include in my first response is that as part of the introduction just prior to the drawing the on-air drawing host always says The drawing is being conducted under the observation of an independent auditor - Mercadian PC . I Googled Mercadian PC. They're an auditing firm like Price Waterhouse Coopers. They've been hired by the NY Lottery to observe each drawing and ensure nothing inappropriate happened.

If you really have proof of rigged lotteries (doubtful) do you think it would really be wise to expose them?

I don't really have any insight into the bean picking and processing, but if I had to hazard a guess, I would imagine the change is from automation with assembly line type conveyor belts, computerized robotic air jets to blow away the dust and twigs from the beans and various shaking and sifting type mechanical stations to arrive at a cleaner end product.

OK. I responded to this at about 1PM today and i also presented a question as well. The question was about dried packaged beans, seeds. Subject was about how we used to prepare them in the good old days and how we do them today.

I would like to know if anyone knows how they can package these seeds, beans, rice etc. without the rocks, dirt and other debris in them.

OK, Thanks. I believe the ball system is adequate for that purpose. Of course i also believe that all those systems are subject to manipulation by computer programs. I will explain how that is done later.

Here in New York, the drawings for Lotto are televised live just prior to the 11 PM news, and the live Take5 drawing can be seen on various TV news websites. They use a machine with a clear plastic drum where the balls bounce around inside and roll down a clear plastic chute. There are six different ballsets, each set is rotated so that a different set of ping pong balls is used for each drawing.

Yes and that makes me laugh because when Texas started the lottery in 1992 the odds were 16 million to 1. So i applied all the calculations i could remember from my college statistical classes and looked up the rest. Still looking to win today.

In those days the also had 1 scratch off that was 1 dollar each so i bought 5 and won $10,000 dollars on the third one i scratched.

This makes me think of my uncle who's 87. He's been playing the lottery here in CA since it started 30 odd years ago. He is still flabbergasted that he hasn't won,lol. He buys 2 quick picks a week. I said before i was not winning but i do play more for the sport of it than anything else.

Not angry because i did not win big, just amazed that anyone suddenly has millions to spend. lol

As a retired accountant i often invite people to sit down with me and lay out how they would spend a million dollars. Outcome is funny because most people will become saturated after spending just 100K, interesting.

I think the lottery is rigged has been discussed here ad nauseam. Usually by people who are not winning. (Like most of us) Regardless if it is rigged or not, THERE ARE PEOPLE WINNING JACKPOTS all the time. So, rigged or not, people are still winning. Is it just because YOU are not winning

Why don't you visit the Texas lottery website, go to Webcast page and watch a drawing, particularly the All or Nothing game.

Then come back and inform the LP community how anyone could manage the 24 balls in the AON game, or any other game, to provide pre-determined winners.

I understand there are a couple of dozen people involved in an official drawing.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. I have posted a couple of times explaining where i stand on all that, but no, never won and yes i play every day hoping to win. I need a new truck and some other toys.lol

In answer to why i haven't won yet is because the way the rigging is taking place it is impossible to win unless i just happen to have the numbers the officials have chosen to close that lottery out.

Again, am terribly sorry about your Dad. He was too young to go but that is what happens sometimes. Am 75 myself and in excellent condition. I do a 1 acre garden, rebuild antique tractors and sell produce at local Farmers Markets.

Here is something else that baffles me on this site. Why do some members actually buy the programs ? Spend $200- $500 and chances are you won't get that money back in a couple of years.

My dad did for the city of Philadelphia 32 years of service almost exactly what you did. He did taxes on the side too so it was decent for anyone who had questions as when I started to know some more. He was 69. He was diabetic and he had a heart attack. All you need to do is this....2 things.

1) Watch a drawing on Texas Lottery website.

2) Pick any jackpot game, Lotto, MM, PB, or 2 Step, or AoN, or Triple Chance. Even Cash 5.

Upon picking any game of your choice, or all if you wish, look at the ODDS of winning a jackpot. Let that number slowly seep into your mind. Just gaze longingly at that big number. Take as much time as you need.
