It's been quite a while since I've so strongly agreed with nearly every facet of a single post dealing with the use of systems, math, overall odds of winning, and chances of winning. There are only a handful of members here that think, know, and post with this level of understanding and surety in my personal opinion. If the probability of winning is exactly the same , why are just all systems a waste of time and not the other methods you suggested?

People play lottery games and just like in other forms of gambling, they make conditional bets. Can't say as fact all the top 50 pick-3 predictors on LP use systems but their hit ratios are much better than the probable 0.1

I respect your opinion that all systems are a waste of time, but I do not agree with it. I only spend minutes updating my spreadsheets not hours. The most I ever won on a single ticket was $76,078.50. You cannot change the odds of a game as it is based on a mathematical formula based on the number of balls used in any given game. A self pick won the $758 million PB drawing but if we're comparing the two, the odds in every drawing highly favor a QPs. There were almost 229 million tickets sold making a 78% chance of having a winning ticket. The problem with PB and MM systems are the amount of ticket needed just to get a reasonable chance of winning something.

Anything less than buying at least 15 MM tickets and/or 25 PB tickets, it's probably better just to get QPs.

It's kind of funny how things turn out in the end. I have been a member of Lottery Post since 2002. People have argued for years whether systems or quick picks are the better method. Many people spend hours trying to pick numbers, and they become frustrated when most of their numbers don't match. But when you read the news online, someone wins the jackpot on a few quick pick tickets.

I agree with most post of using a method of tracking numbers, I have been tracking for several years with my won method of doing this. I use to use a few bought programs but not to any level of winning. I knew what I wanted, but had no clue as to how to achieve it, so I just took it one step at a time and after several times of attempting my end results, I pretty much got what I was after! Over the past 6 years of playing 5 different games, I have hit the 4 number game 4 times for $10,000 each.

People enjoy puzzles. And challenges. To me, that's what Pick 3/4 are. And it shouldn't be about math, it should be about taking the facts of the game, any game, and using them to your advantage. Way too much effort for pick 3/4...not be a downer, but I think there's a truth in saying people (like me) who play are bad at math. Because it's too much math to ing win lol.

I pretty much agree with the sentiment in AllenB post. I use Foxpro (currently) to test out theories, then using that theory I scroll through all the tickets to do a What if I use this theory to calculate profit/loss and overall odds. Then if it is good, then I write a program to predict the next ticket(s) and but it.

For example, with my latest version of my Illinois Lotto predictor, I went from the standard 13% overall odds to a 25% overall odds of getting a refund or greater.

Thousands of hours creating combinations from Skips and Frequencies and Formulas involving just about every Idea that I have come across, show mostly small variations in occurrence vs probability. A consistent use of a system will give you wins. If you have the system in place, then its just a matter of finding out a way to reduce combinations from those likely pool of numbers to cover yourself for a profit. But forget about wins. Its profit that we all need to be focusing on.

IMHO, the first sentence is dead on but everything after that is incorrect. Providing that it's single play action, a system which caters to the specifics of what's happening in real time will out perform QP's or doodling every single time. Bankroll-multiplay systems are a different story.

The amount of time a player spends developing his system is up to the player, for example if he/she wanted to wheel some birthday numbers using covermaster they could generate a wheel with any guarantee in a few seconds. Filling out play slips takes time but that has to be done by everyone playing their own numbers.

You can use the systems to figure out your own numbers.

Systems can be tweaked, and modified to create entirely new systems.

Thus, SYSTEMS are more valuable and have much more lifetime longevity.

When I play Daily 4 (Pick 4), I usually play my own numbers. But the jackpot games, QP. Out of millions of combinations, it's like picking a needle out of a haystack.

I tend to play where balance is needed.... In other words, where the scale is askew, sums, key#s, etc. The pendulum has to swing the other way...such is the passage of time....numbers.

With 1000 or 10000 combinations possible, I need a logical reason to put $ on any combination...

Often, I'll inspect results of the game in question, and deflate missing sums, sums last digit, and underplayed key numbers...

Excellent response.

I do tracking of everything, use a couple of methods that are predictive. But my eye for the numbers is what usually gets it in the end.

Most people won't do that much work or appreciate the time it takes to actually write out a post and make sense to just to share what is working for them.

IMHO

Most folks who visit LP want someone to tell them what to play.

If they win - great. If not, they can blame someone else.

Winning any lottery game demands a lot of time and work.

I'm a systems player. I need about an hour to update my files, another hour coming up with integers that, according to the data, have

best chance of winning.

One of LPs experts, BobP, said in a recent post that lottery systems have two components - mathematical and holistic.

I prefer systems. That way I'm responsible if I hit or miss. If I miss, I can go back and see why. Learn from it and apply to future play.
