Speaking of scams, do you really believe Richard Lustig is asking $20 for numbers ?

Not saying Lustig's methods are better or worse than most, but his lottery winnings come from Fantasy Five and scratch-offs. Just a guess, if it's true someone is really sending emails to gullible seniors asking for $20 for numbers, it's not the real Richard Lustig.

Mail order works with mailing lists. Those who rent them (never for sale, only for rent) include known bad addresses (nixies) to make sure no one else is doing compilations of their lists.

What used to be a request for something like subscribers to Field Stream, thanks to computers, now is a request for a list of 1.000 people in a certain area or zip code who have purchased fishing or camping equipment in the last 90 days.

The same kinds of things use to happened to me when I ordered lottery associated materials when entering the Publisher Clearing House contest.

He won about a million over a 24 year period. That is not very much if that is your primary source of income. Obviously, he has used it to make money giving seminars, lectures, interviews etc. but still, with no regular income, even if you are frugal, you run out of cash.

Way back when I had ordered something about getting paid to play the lottery.........turned our to be something about selling Florida lottery tickets. Beware!

Renting out mailing lists is big business.

Lustig offered a guarantee. One of the tenets of mail order is that most people don't bother asking for a refund.

Got a letter from none other than Richard Lustig asking for $20 for numbers he would send me to play in the Illinois Lottery from May 19th to June 19th.

Don't br surprised if you get one with your name and state.

Why would someone who won the amount of money he says he has start sending out mail like that?

In the same mail there was a letter from the Amazing Kreskin.
