Depends if I know who it belongs too or not.

Once or twice I've found money still left on a machine, no one played on it for the few min it took me in the check out line so I go over to play and see money still on it. I use it to buy tickets, if someone comes back and says hey I forgot I had $10 left on there I'd probably give them the $10. Both times, no one came around.

I have found them many times and when I asked the store they said to keep it and that people do it all the time and the employees normally take them if they see any just sitting there.

A while back I bought some tix out of the vending machine at the grocery store. When I was done, I noticed there was still credit in the machine. I knew I had spent what I put in, I also knew what was still in there wasn't mine. I just left it there in case whoever put it in was coming back. Or for the next person. I didn't want it, it wasn't mine.

Thank you for your honesty. Wish everyone thought the same way. Actually, legally, it is not automatically yours or abandoned property if someone just stepped away for the moment or left the store and returned a few minutes later from the parking lot looking for it. Take advantage of it. It's yours. It's the same as what if you found a $10 or $20 bill no one around. Well of course that is that. Now obviously people are dumber than they are. At one of the wholesale clubs I go to for my candy machine stuff I have to get someone to hunt down the person for a receipt or something else.

I have chased people down in the parking lot for draw games. Alot of times those get stuck and the heavy scratchoffs dislodge them. If someone is in front of me and I know who it is, I will try to get them. I have seen people leave money in the machine also. I would grab a $1(or whatever they had left) ticket and handed it to them in the parking lot. Now if I didn't see anyone there or know who it belonged to, then I keep it. I always know how much I put into the machine and will count my ticket... [ More ]
