Yes, I understand that, but why are the odds 1 in 1000? Since there are three possibilities of winning should they be 1 in 333

Hi everybody. I ve been reading this forum for a while and I am confident that someone here will definitely be able to clear things out for me. I ve recently became really interested in the Pick 3 games. But I've reached a place in the learning process where I am unable to understand it.

I know the odds for a straight are 1 in 1000. I understand the concept of 3-way boxes (1 in 333) and 6 way boxes (1 in 167), but I get confused at combinations.
