You would have Won if the FireBall was 8 !

With FireBall they Draw the usual three Numbers Plus one which equals 4 Numbers Drawn.

To Win with FireBall you have to Match Three out of the Four Numbers Drawn (4790)!

498 only Matches Two Numbers

Thank you all for the replies and explanations. Think I understand it now, although I think the fireball can be played with any type of wager according to the How to Win graphic on the Illinois Lottery Website. I Played 498 boxed today for the Midday pick with the fireball. Numbers came out to be 479 with the fireball being 0.

Winning Combinations would be 079, 409, 470

If I understood correctly I should have won with 409. Will check later when I stop by the gas station.

drpick3, Welcome to LP. I don't know any thing about the fireball cause I don't play Illinois but...

A straight- box bet is basically a 50 cent straight- 50 cent box play. Example. If you play 254 50/50 and it comes out 254 then you win the equivalent of a 50 cent straight- 50 cent box. Usually $290. If it comes out any other order except 254, then you win the 50 cent box. Usually $40.

According to the video, it looks like the fireball has to be replaced by a number you picked in STRAIGHT form only.

Meaning, If 123 is selected as your ticket, and the winning number was 124, the fireball number 4 for example would be replaced by the 3, and you win $125 bucks.

Hi Everyone. I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself and had a question about the Illinois Pick 3. Hope I am posting in the right place. I did try to search if there were any posts about this already but didn't find any. I don't play the lottery much but have been researching how to win the pick 3 with different strategies.
