How much has that friend spent on the lottery in his lifetime? More than $4,600? What if he'd invested the money spent on lottery tickets. Would that have returned more than $4,600?

I'd say he's half-nuts and half-right. All you need to do is read some of the front page stories on Lottery Post to see that people who play numbers that came to them in a dream or on receipts or just through a feeling can and do win big without betting big.

I like to buy lottery ticket's, but I have to be careful with spending money, since I am currently unemployed.

-Also, am getting older- and would prefer to win a good amount of money to be able to take care of myself, and my cat, alot better

I believe it about him spending more money on gambling. Probably the worst thing that can happen to a person or gambler is to win,lol. Sounds funny I know but kinda true. You want to feel that high again. And again and again and....hence the 1-800 number

The guy who won $4,600 told me that he personally knows someone that won $1,000 a week for life with a scratch off. He says that it was that guy who told him Scared money wins no money. He also told me that his friend spends more money gambling now than he ever did prior to the win. Why not?? I would too. G5

IMO scared monies are sums which are not reasonably able to be spared for the purpose being proposed. All sums directed to gambling, whether casino style gaming, sports betting, lotteries, friendly wagers, etc., should be considered entertainment value with no real expectation of a return on investment. If it does happen, great! Though there are professional gamblers who consider a bankroll as a necessity to their job and expect an ROI, I'd bet () the consideration of scared money doesn't apply,... When you have money to burn. You play more in any type of gambling.

You'll try $20, $25 $30 scratch off. AT the casino you'll play the MAX. It

doesn't matter if it a penny machine or $25 machine. If it interest you

it look like fun you try it.

I don't know about the scared money thing. I can afford to spend considerable money. That doesn't mean it's smart. Last year I spent over $2700 on lottery games. The year before I spent almost $2700. This year I'm not doing that.

I'm sure there are some who spend way more than that. If there's one thing I learned over the years is that spending more does not mean you will win a jackpot. You might win more, but it's relative. Just be in the game. A buck or two, and be in the game.... [ More ]

I've always believed that if a player is afraid to lose, then they're also afraid to win. Also, there's a biblical scripture which also compliments this same sentiment:

2 Corinthians 9:6

'But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.'

Totally agree. No, he's not nuts, he's right! When you have money to burn, you're more loose in your play no matter what kind of gambling you're doing. Once I went to the casino with friends just to have the buffet, not to gamble, and had only brought $20 with me. On the way out I threw it into a dollar machine for the heck of it and on the third spin hit $2000. Went over to the Wheel of Fortune and hit another $400. I've never done that again,lol,even when I bring $300 with me because I am more... [ More ]
