$2 million annuity is likely around $1.25 million cash. Less taxes and it's down to around $750 thousand, if that. 1 in 26 million odds is terrible for that amount.

Of course, after a few roll-overs, the jackpot will be more worthwhile, especially being the base price is just a buck. All in all, doesn't seem overly exciting. Though, if it's ball draw verses RNG that would be a huge plus.

Good luck with the new game HW. Yes the all cash and taxes paid jackpots would have been nice, but this one will be annuity with a reduced, not tax free cash option.

haymaker, the article I saw on the new game didn't say if it was ball or RNG drawings. I certainly hope they'll be using balls for this game.

Lotto America was the originally played across the US up until 1992 when the game was rebranded to become Powerball.

Thanks for the great info. I am a regular hot lotto player and am sad to see the game go. I do like the better odds with the new game but I wish they would have stuck with a cash jackpot and all taxes paid the way hot lotto is.

I live closer to the coast then the state of Idaho is like 7 or 8 hours away bye car at 60 miles an hour. So I won't be playing that game because of my lotto budget is only $100 for powerball and mega millions and oregon megabucks.-weshar75

That's true as they'll only be offering Lotto America in former Hot Lotto states, at least initially. Idaho will be participating if you're close to them.

Came across some info on the coming Lotto America game, which kicks off in November. Looks like it will be offered in all current Hot Lotto states except for New Hampshire which will join later on. Not sure if anyone has posted on this game yet but below are some specifics:

A new version of Lotto*America will begin on November 12, 2017, replacing Hot Lotto.

The new version of Lotto*America will be $1 per play, and will be drawn Wednesdays and Saturdays in a similar fashion as Mega Mil... [ More ]
