I run an office pool and we usually buy about $50-60 worth of tickets when the jackpots for PB or MM exceed $250M. The overall odds never change on the game, but I would never spend $50-60 on PB or MM by myself. As a pool, you are buying more chances to win. The only downside is that the prize is diluted which may not matter if everyone is still walking away with $10M+ each.

Also, someone else alluded to strategies. From what I can tell, the PB and MM winners have either used QPs or selected

I have only been with the pool for a month or so. In that time we have only won smaller prizes. We win something in every draw since many tickets are bought.

I am sticking with it for now because I like the strategy.

You are obviously not aware of all online pools. I participate in an online pool and they employ, what I consider, a very good strategy.

The question was regarding online lottery pools, not every pool in the world. Nowhere did I say I was running a pool employing a strategy good or otherwise. Of the commercial pools that bother to mention a strategy it offered no observable advantage The most famous played the same set of 5 numbers 44 times with 1-49 (less the five) as the sixth number. If you join a pool to play a raffle, depending upon the amount of the raffle's top prize, and how many people are in the pool, then it might be worth it to you.

I run a pool at work for The Pennsylvania Millionaire Raffle. That raffle is held twice per year, and a maximum of 500,000 tickets will be sold for each raffle. No, they have no more idea how best to win then you do. The ticket money is being squandered just buying tickets without a well considered strategy.

I'm just curious that it is worthy to join to an online pool lottery? I would like to hear some pro and cons opinions about this topic.It's really increasing the chances
