Right you have to get all the numbers in some order unless your playing straight then they have to be the right numbers in the right order

Can I ask another stupid question. If someone plays 1123 and 1453 comes out, that's nothing - right? It has to be in order or all the numbers? Getting 2 out of 4 numbers - even in the right spot - doesn't mean anything, right

Straight means just that. Exact match. 1123 only will pay out. $2500 per 50 cents wagered.

Box means any order. 1123, 1132, 1231, 1321, 3211, 2311, etc. Basically, for the number 1123, if 2 1 s, a 2 and a 3 show up anywhere in the same number, it's a box winner paying a varying amount depending on the number of repeating digits. 1123 box will pay double $200 per 50 cents that of 0917 box paying $100 per 50 cents, since there are less possible combinations; 12 (1123) verses 24 (0917). I understand that Lucky Sum is more. The rest of it, I'm not sure. Can you please tell me what Straight/Box means? And what is the difference (other than winnings) between that and Combo?

I really need to understand this for my own piece of mind. I have read and re-read the NY Lottery page and DO NOT UNDERSTAND IT.

Can you use ONE number they want to play 1123 or 0917 (I might understand it better with 4 different numbers)

Lucky Sum and Instant Win cost $1 extra, and you have to ask the clerk for them:

Straight/Box is a minimum of $1 per play:

Payouts for all unique numbers (i.e. 1234) at $1 per play:

Payouts for one pair (i.e. 1123) at $1 per play:

When it comes to knowledge there are different kinds of knowledge and different ways of acquiring each kind. On one side is theory (How to Play the Pick 4) and on the other side is the practical application of theory (Playing the Pick 4).

Practical knowledge leads to a deeper understanding of a concept through the act of doing and personal experience.

My great aunt is in a retirement community. I usually play NY Take 5, Mega and Powerball for her and a few others each week. I pick up their tickets on a Saturday morning, go to the store and cash them in and bring them back. They play Take 5 for 7 days, Mega for 2 drawings and Powerball for 2 drawings.
