I play them all. I don't care about the odds. I even play Pick 4, and almost never win at that game, (I don't play a bunch of numbers, usually just one).

I like to have a ticket in several games, rather than a bunch of tickets in one game, or one ticket in one game.

The thing is, there are 40+ states in the MEGA draws which comes down to ~0.35 hits / state and Super Lotto has 7 hits per state which is 21 times better with much lower odds. My money goes to Super Lotto

I think SuperLotto Plus has fewer jackpot hits because players have moved away from it in favor of bigger jackpot lotteries.

I believe the Mega Millions jackpot was hit 12 times in the last 177 draws and the SuperLotto Plus jackpot was hit 7 times in the last 178 draws. That's a MM jackpot hit every 14.75 draws and an SLP jackpot hit every 25.43 draws. Granted, 178 draws is a small sample size, but that's because my SLP statistics only go back to 1/13/16.

Yes, but it is MM vs SuperLotto -- no Powerball involved. And the jackpots are $15 and $17 now that superlotto rolled so similar in size. Again, you have MM with very high odds and SuperLotto with low odds but no one wins. It goes 5-9 months with no winners. It didnt use to be this way. Started happening about 3 years ago.

Casual players that don't play Powerball (because of the $2 ticket price) might choose to play Mega Millions instead of SuperLotto Plus, just because of the bigger jackpots. They probably don't care about the odds--they just see $200 million jackpots vs $20 million jackpots, and go for the bigger jackpot. That said, SuperLotto Plus might become more popular after Mega Millions changes in October.

I don't know the Calif lottery games however I would play the state level. You have better odds and at least the state. As someone once told me the states should all do this and get rid of pb and mm.

Interesting question. I like the better odds with the CA Super Lotto but the 6-9 months for a win is not good.

Now what would I choose? Lol, I couldnt make that decision, so I would buy both. I know, that isnt the answer you are looking for hahahahahahaha.

Calif Super Lotto is at $16 million and MegaMillion is at $15 million -- close enough.

While odds for MM are around 259 mil to one and the odds to Superlotto are around 42 mil to one, for the pass 2-3 years, SuperLotto averages a winner only every 6-9 months.

So, if you had a dollar to spend, which one would you choose
