Wait 1 hr from now and go to usamega.com and it will said what state won. It take few hr to update usamega.com. Last time when jackpot was over 1 billion. It take the website until 3am Michigan time to see who won.

The site doesn't list that info yet. I can't post links but you can see one article at the Chicago Tribune called: One winning ticket sold for Mega Millions jackpot totaling $450 million

The article says:

The winning Mega Millions lottery numbers drawn Friday night are 28, 30, 39, 59 and 70, with a Mega Ball of 10 and a Megaplier of 3. The was one jackpot winner, according to the Mega Millions website. It did not list the state where the winning ticket was sold.

Half of the voters got it wrong.

As just a random guess there were four possibilities, so we should only expect 25% of answers to be neither. I'm pretty sure that the votes for both rolling were based more on hope than probability, and probability just happened to cooperate.

I think it is interesting that powerball has about 100 million on mega millions but they started out the same at 40 million. Goes to show that powerball's big jackpot weights in purchasers minds when buying tickets for either jackpot game.-weshar75

I knew it that Mega Millions is now at 306 million (191.1 million cash value option or lump sum) for 12/29/17 and Powerball at 384 million (239.7 million cash value option or lump sum) for 12/30/17. I think both jackpots will go up and it will be sudden death for both jackpots

alexnt55, You are remembering the MM JP for $380 million. It was split by Holly Lahti in Idaho and Jim McCullar in Ephrata, Washington. Holly was not divorced at the time of her win. She has since moved to the beautiful State of CA. Jim and his wife Carolyn McCullar made an excellent award ceremony. It is on YouTube.

I just saw a news piece about MM PB here in Fresno, CA at Noon. The word is getting out

Yes i overlooked the extra drawing we had. I still think that maybe to many people spent way more then they could afford to 2 years ago and we may never see another JP climb as fast as it did 2 years ago. I think you also forgot/didn't realize that we've still got 5 drawings leading up to 1/13 if we count the upcoming 12/30 one?

That August Jackpot went 356, 430, 535, 758. Since it rolled tonight we're starting with an extra 28 million compared to last August, and we've got one more drawing to build the jackpot, assuming it keeps rolling. Floyd i did not take into account the time of the month previously. If it does roll tonight and on the 30th then on Wed the 3 rd a lot of people will have received there monthly social security and pension checks. That would add to what people have to spend on tickets compared to what they would have before the end of the month. Sadly some people will over spend what they really should. I doubt it will Floyd as ticket sales have been going down. a good example is from Aug of this year. On Aug 9 the JP was at 307 mill. 2 weeks later on Aug 23 when it was hit the JP was for 758 mill. Big JP are only selling about 50 to 60% of what they used to sell. I also will be ok with waiting but would be more than happy to hit tonights JP

2 years ago the 12/30 PB jackpot was $300 million, and 2 weeks later on 1/13 it was $1.586 billion. Once again the PB drawings fall on 12/30 and 1/13, and if PB rolls tonight (about 90% probability) it will finish out the year at $384 million or $239.7 million cash. Even if it does keep rolling I'm not sure it would be quite that big by the 13th, but there is the potential for a 2nd jackpot of more than a billion on January 13th.

I'd be okay with waiting.

Yes on waiting until the start of 2018............ Because, we( in Texas) officially can claim anything at $1 Million and above anonymously after JAN 1st,2018. They did leave a slight snag in the new rules. If you claim the big jackpots(PB/MM/TX Lotto) via installments, then after 30 days the lottery can release your name.....

Taking the cash, claiming anonymously and then becoming mobile to parts unknown

Where is MUSLpublishing predictions for what will happen 2 and 3 weeks in the future? I don't doubt that they'd have something internal for general planning purposes, but the likely inaccuracy makes publicizing it seem odd.

I don't know of those amounts are an official long-range forecast or a personal guess, but the amount for a rollover tonight is $2million low. 7 more rolls to the mid 500's seems on par with the last one that got that high, but the pace of jackpot growth doesn't seem to be as predictable as it used to be.

I'd be really happy with a great Christmas or New Year's, or even a good Hanukkah, but a stellar MLK day or a mind boggling Groundhog day would be even better.

The current Mega Millions jackpot is currently at $176 million. The current Powerball jackpot is estimated at $212 million dollars as of right now. The last time both jackpot hit on back to back days were on Friday March 31st and Saturday April 1st. That was in the year 2017.

Going with simple probability I'd have to figure that PB will get hit by the end of the year and MM will roll at least into January.

Both have 11 more drawings before 12/30.

The PB roll that produced the huge winner in MA rolled from 155 to 430 in 11 drawings, so we can expect that somewhere around 275 million tickets could be sold if it keeps rolling. That means there's about a 60% chance we'll see at least one winner by the end of the year.
