Yea, I am confused about that also. Maybe they were thinking that with a small annuity such as 50K a year for 20 years (the usual payout for a 1 million$ scratcher) won't get bothered by the press, relatives etc.

So they'll let you remain anonymous if you receive a one-time lump sum payment of $1,000,000.00, but it you receive $2 or $3 million payments 20 or 30 times they won't let you remain anonymous.

Could anyone but a politician could find logic in that

Effective January 1st, 2018 the Texas Lottery now officially allows winners of $1 Million Dollar payout prizes or greater to remain anonymous. This includes Scratch Tickets, Texas 2 Step, Texas Lotto, PB and MM. While this is a great victory for players, there is one little note that should also be kept in mind.
