The odds of all combinations winning the jackpot are exactly the same, but the odds of a jackpot being won gets better when more people play. IMO with $2 tickets and odds over 292 million to 1, look for lots more $400 million plus jackpots.

Jackpot size doesn't change your odds of winning the jackpot, but more people play when the jackpot amounts are higher. When more people play, a higher percentage of the possible combinations are played, making it more likely that the jackpot will be won.

Your odds never change, but the jackpot size does. It makes more sense to wait for it to get bigger, but if you'll happy with any jackpot then go for it.

I was playing some Powerball tickets while the jackpot was only $62 million. Is there an equal chance of winning a small jackpot or does the odds improve for those 3 digit and billion jackpots?
