My uncle has played faithfully for over 30 years. And no, he has not won a jackpot. Most he ever won was about $100. It's all luck of the draw...in his case, no luck,lol.

Since 1970 while stationed in Germany, Hessen Lotto (watching the drawings on Saturday nights was a great way to learn German numbers!m even though zwanzig is zwanzish, etc Hessen Deutsch)

Then lived in non-lotto states, in 1987 while in Vegas took a trip to Nipton (pre-Primm) and hit 5 of 6 on the California Lotto, paid $2002.

Am I the oldest one here

Been playing for 15-20 years.. nothing consistent...scratchers on and off,state lottery on and off, PB and MM about the same....best win was on a fantasy 5 of $863.00

And what percentage do you think you'll be getting back playing jackpot games?

If that person played 2 times a week for 30 years. They probably would of won the jackpot.

I've been playing jackpot games for over 30 years, starting in Ohio. Around the mid-late 1980's I got 5 of 6 playing Lotto in Ohio. Can't remember exactly, but I won about $800 or $900. That's as close as I ever got.

Let's say that person game of choice was 6/49 classic lotto game and they had 104 plays a year times 30 years or 3120 chances to correctly match one combo out of almost 14 million combinations.

They probably would of won the jackpot.

Based on the odds, not even close; the only had a 5.7% chance of matching 5 numbers. But they probably would match 3 numbers 55 times and 4 numbers 3 times. Do you expect to win a jackpot playing twice... [ More ]

2 drawings a week for 30 years equates to 3120 chances to win, based on one ticket per draw. Powerball odds are 1 in 292,000,000. To balance these odds in terms of ticket purchases, playing one ticket per draw twice weekly, a person would need to play for 2,807,692 years (rounded). A significant difference over and above 30 years. Yet, the odds still remain the same for each draw with one ticket, 1:292,000,000, even if the overall purchase to odds were equal. Thank You rosumary, for supporting my own position on Scratch Offs or as they are called in Australia Scratcher . The directions on some are confusing.

Each State is expecting a profit.

I also stopped playing the other State games and have only played Power Ball and Mega Millions.

I enjoy reading the stories of past winners. Good and Bad.

I have learned a lot while being a member here on Lottery Post and USAMEGA.com

As in playing the lottery. I mean for Jackpot games.

Scratch offs are a rip off, you are talking to someone that bought books of scratch offs. I did my research on lottery post and they are right. You get 50-60% of your money back.

While you play 2 times a week, when was the first time to the last time you did this without stopping.

I need statistics. I can't find an answer that someone played the lottery for 30 years since the lottery was created as in playing 2 times a week.... [ More ]
