Visited the Hook Ladder #29 in Manhattan all the responding firemen who raced to the tragic scene all were lost, excepting one who reported sick

Many more were made sick by the cancer methane gas at was raising from ground zero

9/11 hero who saved hundreds dies of cancer at age 45

A New York City firefighter, who heroically aided in the evacuation of hundreds of people in Lower Manhattan on Sept. 11, 2001 as the deadliest terror attack in U.S. history unfolded, has died. Thomas Phelan, 45, of Brooklyn, died on Friday.
