This time they jumped up 12 million dollars from 55 million dollars to 67 million dollars for Tuesday April 17th because someone won a Mega Millions jackpot worth $533 million dollars on Friday March 30th

I think they only go up by 5 million three times. Then they jump up a better amount.

It is in the rules that it increases by a minimum of 5 million a draw even if sales don't support the increase

Sales are stronger like 2x with Powerball. Mega Millions is more conservative so therefore smaller increases at the beginning. Buy hey 40 million is a really generous starting point.

When the Mega Millions jackpot resets after someone wins and it starts at 40 million, it only increases by 5 million each time it rolls over in the beginning. The Powerball jackpot however, increases by like 10-15 million each time it rolls over even after it resets to 40 million. So why does the Mega go up slower? They're both $2 tickets now so it can't be because of the money they pull in from the ticket sales, is it
