It probably works the same as if you worked in CT and live in NY.

If you happen to hit 5/5, you will receive a 1099 from CT Lottery.

CT will withhold State Federal taxes and when you file your 1040 IT-201 NY State tax return, you will fill in Line 41

Cash 5 in Conn.

Does anyone know how paying taxes works if I play Cash5 in Connecticut but I live in New York. How would it break down if someone hit 100,000 first prize.

I only ask because the first prize in New York is much lower, so whenever I get a chance I play in Conn, but if I get taxed too much then maybe its not worth it.
