The minutes for the April 12 commission meeting don't give a reason for the cancellation.

A lottery official said MUSL had voted to cancel the proposed game

You will recall that Texas voted to adopt the WTA for Texas Lotto almost immediately after MUSL decided to add the new game to Powerball.

Apparently a WTA game for Texas Lotto alone wouldn't be profitable.

Winners have always won the whole jackpot. If I remember right, it was the chance to pay less for a ticket if the player gave up his chances of winning other prizes other than a jackpot. Odds of 1:300M of winning any prize is not an attractive selling point.

Powerball officials have cancelled plans to add a Winner Take All feature to their jackpot game, according to Texas lottery officials.

The WTA game would have been an added promotion to the Texas Lotto draw game.
