Why dont lotteries show the Day and Time the winning ticket was sold??

The tickets I purchase show the day and time the tickets are printed, but nobody from a state lottery or a store contacted me to say my ticket won anything .

We should know where and the time and date the ticket was sold and what store do you go into nowadays that does not have a video recording?

What happens if the video shows the person purchasing the ticket and shows someone else who found the ticket in the trash can? Will they change the rules so players can only validate their winni... [ More ]

I personally know the guy who once been tr?cked down by a store clerk, who claimed that my friend bought a ticket that won $600.000. After the draw, lottery organisers informed the store where ticket was sold at what time the winning ticket was sold. And thought their video monitoring they pinpoint my friend as the one who bought that ticket. (as he was one of the regulars, buying large amount of tickets). Then I'd know that 55% of all tickets are sold 2 days before the drawing between the hours of 9AM and 12PM. You're welcome to your delusions, but the time at which winning tickets are sold is a function of when players buy tickets.

The only thing the date and time you purchase a lottery ticket might affect is the numbers that are chosen as a quick pick by the lottery terminal.

That being said, it s just a possibility, not a certainty.

The reason it might affect the numbers chosen as a quick pick is that random number generators in computers always start with a seed value, and many times the seed number chosen is the current tick count of the computer s internal clock. I would still like to know what time the winning ticket was purchased and whether it was a Quick Pick or not. I don't care about the where. All I want to know is when (Time and Date) are most winning tickets sold, especially if they are Quick Picks.

You would have to know in advance that the winning ticket will be sold at that terminal at that exact millisecond. But you don't have that information in advance, obviously.

What terminal and time of day it was for the last drawing is of no use to you. Just like the numbers chosen in the last drawing are of no use, yet people try to use them anyway... waste of time, just throw away your money on QP's to get it overwith...

What does the date or time have anything to do with winning? I'd rather know if it was a QP or if they picked their own numbers. If they did pick their own numbers, I'd like to know how they picked those numbers.

If the Lottery published the Time with the Location of the Winners. I am guessing that the Time would be another Random set that would be difficult to Track

So Then you would have to worry about not only your numbers, but, when to buy them.

Sounds like the Odds of Winning would be as much as 24 time greater when you tried to just pick the correct hour to Buy.

I have often wondered if a Group could Pick Lottery Numbers with any consistency.

Could a group of 10 people, each picking 1 Number, be combined and wheeled for some Big Wins

Good idea, always good to see posts like these on this forum. Collective thought is the only way we'll be able to discover new strategies.

However, my only concern of the date being included is the exact timing of when it is purchased - then getting it down to a science.

The buyer of the ticket would have to be at that store, standing at that counter, where the clerk is generating the QP ticket at that exact millisecond.

Yeah, his shows were interesting and would compel you to open your mind to unusual occurrences. Being a guy that likes music, I actually enjoyed his opening theme music which is 'The Chase.' Very disco-ish and back in the day. I use to get my Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis in which was also interesting and really helped me understand a specific genre of people-listeners. That Ground Zero theme song, though.......

I didn't know that, thanks for the info., amber.

While broadcasting from Vegas he was on KDWN radio, which was on the mezzanine of the (then) Union Plaza. I worked on the first floor and once in a while would go talk to him before he went on the air. He was a very interesting guy.he told me that the clock was still an adversary, but not in the sense of waiting to get off work but program after program he wanted to discuss many more things but the time just ran out.

Now if someone or you, figures out the best time to buy a ticket is at 2:47 pm on a Tuesday, how could you even time that? You take the day off from work, you go the store, you wait, and at 2:45 there's 6 people ahead of you and 2 of them have a whole list of Pick 3 and Pick 4 numbers for the clerk to enter manually, or a couple want a slice of pizza, or one of those hot dogs that have bee... What do you mean if it's true?..lol...Of course it is. You're battling tens of millions to 1, that's a fact. That is the reality of the odds, not when and where you buy a ticket. Even if they told you that 70% QP wins are from 3-7 pm...so what? what does that prove?...There are countless millions of tickets being played, and even If you play during that time period 2 days before the draw between 3-7 pm, you're still playing against astronomical odds. dbell41, The Lottery Security Department may have some answers for you. They may want to keep the times and videos secret for their mysterious reasons.

It could be one point or question they want to ask the claimant, What time did you purchase this winning ticket? They might even ask more difficult questions if they smell a rat.

Ok, I agree with you, so if what you say is true then why don't they publish it? Suppose we could see it and we see something like the QP winners are purchased 2 days before the drawing 70% of the time between the hours of 3 and 7.

Even if it is a 40%, If you had that statistic when would you buy your ticket?

There must be something to this.....

I think if we know this tidbit of info we would have better prediction results.

We already can find out where the winning ticket was sold but not what day or time. Hmmmm....... is there something to this? We may be able to tell when the best time to purchase a ticket would be, especially if we use quick picks.
