3 and 4 numbers? I get 3 numbers rarely and never had 4 numbers. In MM, you have 1 in over 600 to do a 2 + 1 or a 3 for a whopping 10$ on a 2$ ticket. To get a 3+1 it's 1 in 14,000 and for a 4 match it 1 in 39,000 for a $200 or 500$ prize.

Meanwhile in the illinois lottery, you have a 1 in 32,000 chance for about a 1,250$ prize (with the 2$ ticket option). The Luckyday has a 1 in 6,000 chance to win $200 for a 1$ ticket.

Powerball and mega relies on people s greed and desperation. I rarely play unless I m in a small town in bum snip Egypt and something makes me feel like it.

Stick to scratch offs. There s always going to be a prize in a roll of scratch offs...even if you end up with some losers (though it s not always worth chasing that winner because if you have to buy 3 more tickets to make up for the 3 tickets you lost, it usually only ends up covering the cost of 1 or 2 tickets).

Not worth playing. You will probably win a lesser prize, and then Powerball will rip you off. If you match three white balls and the Powerball, they will pay you $100. For this, since the odds are 1 in 14,494 and the wager amount is $2, I think they should pay you at least $12,500 for this. Until Powerball does this, I will not play unless there is a Top 5 jackpot AND the drawing takes place on a major holiday.

You need to eat to live. Granted, you can save money by buying food from the grocery store and cooking it at home. But if you're on the road, that's not an option. If you live on the street, that's not an option.

The overall chances of a $2 MM or PB ticket winning something is terrible and Power play and Megaplier aren't much better. And don't get me started on the $3 MM jackpot only tickets.

Where else can a person toss down $2 for a chance at millions, or even one million. In Texas I throw down $1 on our Lotto game for a chance at a few million, and the odds aren't too good for that game either.

The state keeps about 50% of your ticket as profit, leaving only about 20% for lower prizes, most of which are very difficult to win. If my memory is correct, there was an entry in the PB FAQ where someone asked a question regarding sales.

The answer was that about 79% of the tickets sold are Quick Picks.

It was more than 70% but less than 80%.

Lotto officials often state that they don't think a jackpot will be won until more than 80% of available combinations are sold.

I don't recall that the FAQ said anything about how the winners won.

I'm in every MM and PB draw. Yes the odds are 11 million...12 million to 1 just for the million dollar second prize. That amount of money would set me up for retirement. My state lotto game in Texas has a higher jackpot, costs $1, and I'm in that one every draw also. The odds for that are 1 in 25,827,165. So, 2nd prize for MM and PB are half of my state lotto.

$2 for a chance at 10's or 100's of millions of dollars ? why not... People rent movies, have a beer,smoke a few cigarettes for about the same price every day. Since I only rent a movie every so often, the $2 that I spend, causes me no health issues and gives me a bit of joy thinking about the big payday that is coming my way.

Years ago, I played Powerball games a lot. Even back when the price of the ticket was only a dollar, I bought numerous tickets only to become disappointed when I discovered that the tickets were worthless. I won some money on occasion, but not enough to even cover my losses on ticket purchases.

Is it worth playing $2 a ticket for Powerball game where the odds are 1 out of 292,201,338????!!!???
